My dh is a long distance runner but is having trouble with chaffing between his legs.

He has asked me to ask the power of mumsnet if there is a product he can use to prevent this problem, which would last for a 20 mile run, or longer.

Can anyone help or he is doomed to walking funny for evermore?

Have you tried lanacane anti-chafing gel?
There is something else but the name escapes me ( something like microglide???) But when the runners (which I am not Grin) come along they'll know.

My DH uses special sports pants from M and S. They work a treat - apparently.

body glide from running shop. more here

I second bodyglide, my dh is a cyclist and uses it.

He needs to sort out his clothing and get some lubrication. Body Glide is the best lubrication but I often use vaseline. As for clothing, what does he wear at the moment? Lycra shorts are probably the best option. If you pick a pair without seams round the crotch he can go commando. Or wear some sports underwear, without seams.

Thanks everyone - that is really helpful. Smile

I second Bodyglide and Vaseline! Not needing either but it seems to be the ones everyone swears by.
