Summer of fitness

Well with July here, a couple of months of perfect exercise weather ahead and summer hols just around the corner, my summer of fitness is about to begin with a 40 min run.

Will be doing a gym workout Monday, spinning Tuesday and Thursday, a run on Friday and Sun and Step on Sat. Anybody fancy a bit of a fit club for motivation?

Can the dog be trained to run with you Viva? Never had any success with that when we had dogs because they'd keep zipping across straight in front of me so I was always afraid of tripping over them. Is there no other time you can find to get out on your own? I find I have to be quite selfish with sticking to my routine. DH and I have a rota!

Upped the gym.workout today - 500 cals.burned.

I've tried with the dog and had the same problems as you. I'll have to be more disciplined and do it in the eve rather than watch tv.

I did thirty day shred yesterday and an hour walk.

TBH, apart from Monday, the evening is the only time I can exercise because of childcare. How's Shred going?

Did another hardcore gym workout today and might have to do it again tomorrow because the logistics of getting back out for spinning are complicated!

I've been a bit disheartened because I hoped to lose a bit of weight but appear to be gaining it (I don't really buy the muscle weighing more than fat chestnut). Anyway, I'm managing to keep going mainly because I love the exercise high afterwards, even if I really didn't feel like it beforehand.

I'm "off school" now for the summer holidays Grin....in my mind I am planning a six week diy bootcamp......hour of fitness dvd, hour of walking, hour of toning spread over each day...well, that's the plan anyway Grin.

That sounds good MPN. I start summer hols tomorrow too, so no excuses!

8k run on treadmill yesterday. Rest today (am currently on 24hr ECG) then gym tomorrow.and spin Friday. We're.going camping on Sat so.I.need.to go on mapmyrun to plan a route.

Excuse random full stops - using touch screen phone!

TMcF, you have no idea how happy I am that someone thinks this is a good idea....I do have that amount of time, albeit split through the day, to actually do this, motivation is obviously the key ha!

mapmyroute is great....where are you holidaying?

TartyMcFarty · 01/08/2011 21:56

We were on the Cardigan coast. I didn't end up running when I was there bit walked a great route with DD, which I'll run in the early mornings when we go back next week.

Fitness regime is going really well - starting to look more defined and over the last week, with a bit of extra effort on eating, I'm losing weight too Smile

Well my summer of fitness amounted to nothing to shout about GrinBlush

So, on to Plan B.....from 7th September I will.....

drink more water
20 minutes cardio when I get up
30 minute walk before work
hour walk or dvd after work
not drink alcohol during the week
not snack

Here I go again Grin.
