Please recommend an easy dvd for an unfit exercise novice

Lurching towards middle age and I really need to do some focussed aerobic exercise. I'm reasonable active (not stuck at a desk all day) but I have foot, knee and back issues (great) so I'm not ready for an exercise class, running or the 30 day shred. Not keen on swimming.

Do you know of a dvd to start someone off reasonalby gently? Even one for the over 50s perhaps (though I'm not yet!). Really don't want to do myself an injury, but I need to build up muscle tone and stamina.

TIA.

Any suggestions please?

The Rosemary Conley ones are quite gentle.

Also something called '10 Minute solutions' - not nearly as tough as Shred but in small chunks (but don't get the Boot Camp one Grin - actually I would be happy to send my copy to you but I don't recommend it !!).

You can always start by borrowing a selection from the library and seeing what you like. Good Luck.

Does it need to be aerobic if you are pretty active anyway?
How about pilates or yoga and then you could go to a class. The instructor can advise you which to adapt due to your foot / knee / back issues.

I used to do pilates and it really worked my muscles hard.

I bought the Jillian Michaels Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism (it might do if I did it more regularly!)

I'm very overweight, very unfit and asthmatic (attractive combination!) but find this ok as it's done in short bursts like circuit training so it's easy to take a breather then get back in to it but it gives you something to aim up to.

Sorry, just got back to this after dinner...

Great suggestions, thanks. Hadn't thought of trying the library - good idea.

Anyone else?

Jane Fonda has a new one out that is aimed at the more mature lady...

Notyummy, I'll take a look, thanks.
