Hi, does anyone know anything about runners knee as I think I have one. My knee feels sort of crunchy and I get stabbing pains mostly when going up or down hill. Are there any quick fixes or do I just need to rest lots?

I would recommend going to see a sports massage therapist or a physiotherapist. I see a sports massage therapist once a month and he helps to keep me running Grin

I had runners knee a few years ago after not wearing the correct support running shoes and training not very sensibly for my first half marathon.

I was in a great deal of pain with it after the race and for weeks after had to run shorter distances and build up gradually. I visited a sports physio - who gave a great assessment (it turned out I have a wonky pelvis which agravated my knee!) I was given strengthening exercises to do which helped. I also wore a neopreme knee support during these building up distance runs. Important not to overdo it.
I would also advise checking your running shoes. When did you last change them? Have you had your running gait assessed? Hope this helps
