Does anyone know of a plan that starts with less than 60 seconds running?

I've started this a few times and get very discouraged as I can't do week one Blush Sad

There must be one for the couchest of all couch potatoes?

Can you concentrate on getting up to running for 60 secs then start one one of these training plans? So run for ten secs, walk for ten secs, do for five mins. Build up to 20 secs run, 20 secs then 30 etc etc? Do over a week? You'll be surprised how quickly you get up to the longer running distances - I started with 1 min run/walk then up to 10k in 6 weeks.

I'm with Iggly don't do too much too soon - you might also be trying to run too fast - just start with a power-walk, then progress to a very very slow jog. You'll get there!

I'm doing c25k and agree with trying again but more slowly and do what you can. I found week 1 really hard and even with running slower got a stitch in my first minute. Try doing 40s if going more slowly doesn't help and repeat wk1 until you can finish it. I'm now in week 4 and can run 5 mins continuously (still really slowly). Don't be discouraged and you will get fitter.

I did a running plan in a magazine and it started with 30s jogging, 1 minute walking I think 10 times - maybe you could start with something like that?

I did couch to 5k and now running 6 miles without stopping. But I found I had to adapt it a little I struggled at first so just ran 30 secs for the first week. Then did what should of been the first week on the second. Some weeks I repeated because I just was not able to do the next one. But I got there. Dont stress about just follow the basic structure, even if it means you do 30 secs first week, 45 secs the next it is progress and in the right diretion and you will get there. The plan is brilliant and the best thing I have done. Like Iggly said [waves to Iggly] you might be running too fast. Your aim at the moment should be to keep running so the slower you go the better, if you go too fast you will run out of puff. Speed is to be worked on later.
