I've hurt my back, but it feels better today.....what exercise do you think I can reasonably do?

It's a lower back issue that reoccurs every now and again, was really bad Saturday night but feels alot better today, a bit stiff...

I would normally go to the gym today and run, then walk on treadmill. Do you think I could just walk on treadmill? or swim? Or shall i just rest it completely all week? (Which would mean I would stress about no exercise...?)

I would either walk, or swim - but if you swim I'd use front crawl or use a paddle held in front of you, face in the water, legs kicking out behind. Or same but on your back. Breaststroke really aggravates my back if it's feeling tender.

Why would you stress about not exercising for one week to allow your body to heal? Possibly an over reaction but this rings alarm bells for me.

Well I have hurt my back (yesterday - standing up) & I am not planning on exercising much at all

I am hoping to keep going through a 'normal' week without having time off work

Will give it a miss for this week. Thankyou!
