OMG (as the young people say) - I've just been shredded

When will I ever learn not to follow the MN trend setters? Seem to have lost the thread that recommended the 30 day shred but wanted to share my pain.

I've just finished the first run through of the DVD. I'm in need of a bath to help stop the shaking, a glass of wine to ease the stress and emergency chocolate.

Thanks to whoever it was that pointed out the Davina weights in Argos, and not so many thank yous to whoever it was that said 2Kg weights were the best. Started off with Davinas 1.5 ones - after 20 seconds moved down to the .68 ones (and my arms are still recovering!).

I'm hoping that someone will come along and tell me to keep with the programme - are the results worth the pain?

I didn't do it yesterday.... I had a cold and an asthmatic 3 year old to deal with....

But WILL attempt to do it today and every day from now on, assuming I'm not with 3 year old in a+e (a distinct possibility....)

Orangina, sorry to hear about DC being poorly. I hope he/she has a swift recovery. Don't attempt to do it - just do it - you won't get those abs for free.

I did day 8 today and it was so much easier than day 1. Really, it was. Am beginning to wonder whats on level 2 !!Shock I do it as soon as I get up. It's taking me longer to get out of bed now as I put off the evil moment Confused.

Loler - you're hopeless Grin!! Come on, you want to do it. Think how good its going to feel to see the new slimmer you grinning back in that mirror.

Buttons steel yourself, get the first couple of days done and you'll feel much better by the time you've done it on Monday.

Will probably need help next week for flakiness myself Wink so you can say it all back to me then.

Can I ask some basic (and possibly dopey) questions?

  1. How long is each workout? Did I read '20 minutes' somewhere?

  2. Will I need a shower afterwards (relevant as to when / if I will fit it into my day Grin )

  3. How much space will I need?

  4. Is it, like my gym ball work out, too hideously humiliating to do in front of anyone else (I have been known to fall off and swear)

  5. will I need any Tena lady? Blush

ok I did this once just before I came down with a cold so then I didn't do it that day

was so scared, I felt sick as a dog and didn't even finsh the whole of level one
I tell you press ups are a killer and I was just so worn out, I'm useless

I WILL be trying it very soon along with running on my treadmill

I'm hoping that as I was ill the next day that I was below par when I tried it and wont feel so bad next time

First day is the worst. I felt sick and my legs were shaking. I wanted to go to bed for a week afterwards.

But haven't felt like that since, so you just have to push on through it!

MrsC, to answer your questions:

1 allowing for faffing around with the dvd, warm up and cool down, allow a half hour.
2 Yes
3 I do it in the sitting room, you need to be able to do jumping jacks, press ups and sit ups. If you have enough room for those, you can do it.
4 yes. I don't let ANYONE see me, and I draw the curtains.
5 er, I don't know?! Do a few jumping jacks and see how it goes......!

Ok, I've ordered it Shock. I have about a zillion fitness dvds already Blush but none of them quite fit the bill. I need something that is really efficient and it looks like this might do the job Confused.

Should be here by the end of the week, which will hopefully give me time to get over this pesky cold. Angry
