i am a regular runner although due to the summer holidays have fallen out of routine a bit. i want to apply for a marathon to get me motivated and have my eye on the royal parks half marathon which is 10th October

is 1 month enough time to train? i cant decide as never done a marathon before but really want to do it. however dont want to over do it but unsure what is over doing it

when i was running regularly i can run 6-7 miles few times per week.

please help me decide. what would you do?

yeah go for it, it will be a bit tight but you will be back up to your normal rate in a week and then you will have to push yourself after that.

It's sold out and you'll need a charity place. Have you got time for the fundraising as well as the training?

However it is supposed to be a great race, well organised and good for fast times. I think it's a good one to pick.

hi fridayschild i didn't realise it was sold out but i was talking to a friend about the sponsorship side of it and ive decided i just wont have enough time it will all be a rushed effort so ive decided to wait until i find out if ive got a london marathon place or not. if i do then ive got that to throw all my efforts into

if i dont then il find another race that isn't a rushed decision. would have loved to have done that race but the collection part wouldn't have been my best effort and i would end up feeling guilty!!
