This is a question from my DH , I have no idea as I am the lazy half of the marriage Grin

I have read about specialist shops that you can go to and they put you on a treadmill type contraption and recommend the right shoes for you but I don't want him to be ripped off . We are in West Sussex if that helps .

TIA

I went to a running shop and got videoed running on a treadmill. Wasn't ripped off. That part of the service was free, and it just meant that they could recommend the right style of running shoe for my feet and style of running. Paid the same as I would have done for a decent pair of trainers in any sports shop.

Thanks so if I just do the google thing then all will be well ? I just didn't want to send him of to some poncy place that was going to then say he had to pay £££££

There is an independent running shop in Worthing called 'Run', I got my shoes from there, they were fabulous.

They didn't have a treadmill, but made me run along the street while they watched me, then filmed me, then I got to test drive several pairs of trainers.

The shame of running along the street in a dress, socks and trainers nearly killed me but they were very good, and no problems with the trainers they recommendedGrin

Thankyou Doyouthink , I love the image of you running up the street being filmed , maybe I will go along with DH just for the entertainment value Grin

There's one in Horsham too, called Up and Running.

Best thing I ever did, getting videoed running (but it was on a treadmill, thank god). My new running shoes are amazingly comfortable and all the blisters/aches/pains vanished as soon as I started running with them.

Are you near Haslemere? Sports locker is good too...has the running machine and gait analysis and quite a bit of choice. (not sure the demographic of Haslemere could cope with people running through the streets trying out trainers!!)

I was tight on funds at the time and managed to get a decent pair for the number of miles that I do.
