Music to run to

I like to run to oldie techno/dance tunes. Think the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Scott Bond etc from late-'90s. Uplifting is fine. Dark is fine, too.

Could you recommend anything similar? I'm running out of ideas from my old clubbing days.

Hi, I tend to listen to electro/techno/breakbeat mixes. I find a pounding bass-line really helps me keep my pace up when running. And whenever I hear a track that I really like coming in it immediately lifts my spirits if I'm starting to get a bit weary.

My faves at the moment are:

Chemical Brothers - Brothers gonna work it out mix
Live at the Social 3 - mixed by Andrew Weatherall and Richard Fearless
FC Kahuna's Another Fine Mess.

I also listen to quite a few of the old Mary-Anne-Hobbs Breezeblock sessions on Radio 1 where she would have a DJ come in and do a one hour mix session. Might be worth looking some of those up!

I love the Chemical Brothers and the Prodigy (firestarter!) and Faithless for long runs (different tempos help alter my pace a bit.) And not techno / dance at all but I used to love running to Led Zeppelin!?!

This has inspired me to get my ipod out for running again - for a long time, this has been my silent time as the soundtrack to my life has been crying babies. I'm out of that now so maybe it's time to move on....

I have a playlist consisting of Muse, Green Day, Sum-41, Mumford and Sons, Primal Scream, The Clash, Black-Eyed Peas. I also quite like orchestral music.

Would second the Prodigy and Faithless - both fast uplifing stuff.

Got a couple of Dizzee Rascal tracks on download (Bonkers is amazing to run to!)Also Wylie and Chew Fu - Take That is awesome as well. Good bassline.

Perhaps try buying an Ibiza 2010 album - probably at least 50% of the tunes will be suitable for running to.

Other favs at the moment:

AC/DC
Florence and the Machine
Some of the Glee stuff - Don't Stop Believing and The Safety Dance.
Plan B

I love Led Zeppelin but never thought of running with it. Might be interesting.

These are the songs I run to, that I've been able to find on YouTube to post here:

Oldie but goodie

Surprisingly good especially towards the end

I like to start a run with this one

You get the idea
