Speaker Bercow is gone.

Speculation that Johnson is parachuting into Rutland.

Rumours that the Brexit Party won't contest the election.

A new speaker to be elected on Monday.

Parliament to dissolve next week.

Brexit? Oh we've forgotten that until Friday 13th...

😂 @Pretzels.

tobee · 02/11/2019 15:51

How's it looking this time of year, pretty?

thecatfromjapan · 02/11/2019 15:52

I have ripped jeans. Which I realise is kind of verboten for 'ladies of a certain age'. But I like them.

ArseDarkly · 02/11/2019 15:53

I'll go back to chatting to people at bus stops, don't think they're paying people to say stuff at bus stops yet

Don't give them ideas! Shock

prettybird · 02/11/2019 15:55

Thanks pretty. So lovely to see that! Smile

There was a thread on style and beauty last year about what age you can wear ripped jeans. Someone said "under 25" 😆😆🤣😢

prettybird · 02/11/2019 16:11

Can't post a nice relaxing picture of the last of my flowers from the garden squid as MN claims I've posted 6 pictures in the past 24 hours Confused

ArseDarkly · 02/11/2019 16:23

ArseDarkly · 02/11/2019 16:25

For a minute I thought you were dissing the happy bollard tobee Shock

Thought you were allowed 30 pics a day?

TheMShip · 02/11/2019 16:27

Love the bollard and the garden photos. It's dark and raining but here's mine. One bed all ready for winter, the other awaiting a sunny day. Plenty of room for a good size refugee tent! (Also in Scotland.)

Fabulous garden pretty! Looks like the result of many years' work.
Lots of room for Westministenders Brexit refugees from England. Although is it a bit sloping for tents?!

It seems Labour are standing more women candidates in the empty safe seats. 76% to the Tories' 27% at the moment. (smallish sample)

And although it seems like female MPs are standing down in numbers due to abuse, it's actually not a higher proportion than that of the men.

So far, 59 MPs have said publicly they will not stand at the forthcoming election and 18 are women - approximately the proportion of the total number of female MPs.

I'm on the app at the moment which seems to have a lower limit of 6 (at least that's what it tells me when I try) Confused To be be fair, until I upgraded to a new phone/app (I had an iPhone 4, so was on iOS 7 Shock), I could only post 3 pictures a day! Hmm

This echoes many people’s thoughts I think... There seem to be a lot of homeless people politically at the moment. I’ve never felt so devoid of palatable choice going into an election...

prettybird · 02/11/2019 16:41

Hester - the top level is bowling green (or croquet lawn, as that's what we think it might have been Wink) flat - and double the size (ie the weeping cherry tree marks the middle: other half belongs to our downstairs neighbours - who have a poster up in their window saying "Refugees welcome here" Grin)

It's probably about 12 years of work, as that's when we put in the patio. Green house went in last year, but cherry tree was planted about 17 years ago. Plum and pear trees at the back are probably about 100+ years old (judging by the two pear trees that were chopped down in the other half). Raised beds were put in about 11 years ago - to cope with the fact that it might be a south facing garden, but it's a north facing slopeHmm

Dh would claim he does all the work as he cuts all the grass which he enjoys doing as our downstairs' neighbour is a reluctant gardener Grin

Confusion as NO ONE turns up for 'huge' pro-Brexit demo in Doncaster this morning

Quite aside from the level of moronity needed to think that any sort of demo on a day of a major sporting event with England in the final, the fact that the country didn't "explode" 2 days ago might have signalled to the organisers they really should have rung round in advance.

Hoooo · 02/11/2019 16:46

Sadly the feeling of 2 bad choices makes things like trump or bojos win possible.

TheElementsSong · 02/11/2019 16:48

Further to the SM astroturf vs real people discussion- and the interesting question of how many actual people still support Brexit (clue: see Doncaster et al ), I give you:

Oakenbeech
Interesting article but I think it misrepresents the Libdem A50 policy.
If they manage to win an absolute majority in Parliament, that would be their mandate to revoke.
Up to date and clear as day.

Re the Doncaster rally
