Despite all the information out there about the harm Brexit will do to the UK, I fear that The Tories will be voted back in and the UK will leave.
After 5 years of misery I hope they are voted out, once the electorate expect the reality of post Brexit life.
Do you think we can get back into thé EU?
I don’t think we will have as favourable terms, but I hope that having been in already; then going back is a possibility?

How do we get back in?

By electing some skilled, insightful, informed, diligent, trustworthy statesmen and women who appoint (and listen to) similarly skilled civil servants.

This new breed, if they can be found, would then need to rebuild trust through consistent reliable diplomacy.

The end result would be renewed participation in a lucrative trading bloc- yes on less advantageous terms -but that's the price we pay for our harmful stupidity.

@mistrigirl

I do live in the sticks; so it has probably coloured my neighbours views

I live in the countryside too, but I wouldn't say he is hated apart from the local FN supporters. Certainly not by my U3A students, but they are obviously a self-selected group committed to further education.
Eye-rolling yes, hatred no.
I don't think Macron would block re-joining if the political climate had genuinely changed.
