Remainers-have you stockpiled to insure against the possibility of no deal?

Dds have told me that their dad has nothing extra in at all. There's 10 of them in the house and several animals. They voted remain. I realise that not all remainers will have a food and essential supplies buffer but surely if you have a big family then you'd want to ensure you have enough food even for a few days if things go to worst case scenario? I can understand a single person or couple not stashing but surely when you have kids, and so many of them, it's vital to make sure you can feed them? The dds are starving whenever they come back from there as it is so hope that there are no shortages because he will struggle to feed them. They eat me out of house and home here so I'm worried they'll potentially go hungry there.
Joint household income of around £70K so not short of money before anyone suggests they might not be able to afford to.

I did before March, but can't see no deal being a possibility this month.

We did earlier this year but we’re eating it now as I don’t believe there will be a no deal.

I started stashing last January/February and have just been rotating and maintaining since aoart from adding Christmas items. I don't think there's much chance of no deal this month either but until it's ruled out 100% then I remain cautious. It sucks.

I have a small stash now, but didn't have one in March.
I'm not sure why, but I feel the chances for no deal are more likely now. I wasn't worried about this at all in March, as I thought that May would rather revoke? Not sure.

flouncyfanny it's been raised many time's but he claims they don't eat all their dinner or say they are full. It might be something to do with them not liking the food there very much though I just can't imagine having a house of ten people and not having at least some extras in just in case.

I'm just making sure I am well stocked up, so have extras of most things so I can do a couple of weeks at least.

My 'stash' mainly consists of loo roll, tea bags, cat food and spices.

TBH, £70k annual (gross?) income isn't a great amount for a household of ten(!) people.

I'm not really sure why their vote for remain has any bearing, either. I know plenty of people of both persuasions who are anticipating supply glitches.

I'd just worry about your h/hold and let your ex worry about his.

Leavers are still expecting unicorns and sunny uplands so to stash would be to admit they might be wrong and it would not be patriotic to not BeLeave.

I do worry because my kids are there EOW and half the holidays so I worry about them
getting enough food.

Oh yes, I need to check dates too. I'm going to be baking lots of bread as have lots of bread flour that's best before the end of December. I did sort out my boxes a while ago and put anything to be used this year into the cupboards which will make it easier.

Yes, got a good supply of most things, just nervously awaiting whatever the outcome will be. Like you, Bercows, I anticipate making a fair amount of bread as my flour expires Jan/Feb I think. I need to check. Everything else has long use-bys.

No, I haven't stockpiled anything and I don't know of anyone IRL who has either. If someone in the household was on medication then I probably would have.

Unfortunately, this is a naive assessment at best.

We did but ended up using most of it during the summer when everything was financially bit tight. Still have decent stockpile of basic medicines, kids suspensions and kids vitamins though. Food wise we’ve just added 3/4 small things to the shopping every week to try and build it back up a bit to what it was. Regardless of the political situation we live semi rural and get snowed in when it snows in Feb/March for up to a weeek sometimes so if nothing else it will come in very handy for that!

Yes but general UK prepper style as opposed to USA prepper. As UC is coming to my area and that got me into it before Brexit shitshow
I bulk buy as rule when I'm special offer but with Brexit now on use and replace

But not just brexit can be UC/Big bill /illlness/bad weather

@Gingerninja4 it's very sensible and what our grandparents used to do after all by having a well stocked pantry. Well mine did anyway. I'm dreading swapping to UC in January. I'm a single parent so I've found that having a well stocked cupboard and extra things in has helped us through snow and illness or when funds have been tight. It's definitely the way forward!
