Leavers and Remainers see exactly the same thing in completely opposing ways.

How do we ever overcome that?

There isn't an orderly brexit on offer, Johnson doesn't want a deal, he wants chaos.
As his sister said yesterday, he is under huge pressure from the backers of a no-deal brexit and billions staked on this.

I think we are heading for years of political instability, a return to the troubles, Scotland leaving and violence on the streets of the UK.

We are devoid of political leadership that wants to act in the best interests of the country, which should be to revoke.

I agree that it's a culture war now, the EU is just a scapegoat. Leaving doesn't solve anything, it will just create more problems for the UK. The whole thing is ridiculous.

I'd also like to ban the words democratic/undemocratic/will of the people. They've been said so much they've lost all meaning now.

Orderly Brexit please.
Define an orderly Brexit?
Single Market and CU ?
No SM / CU and ten years negotiating a trade deal ?
or what ?

Spell out the truth to those who still believe - the brexit emperor has no clothes

Let's not waste any more time and money on this brexit myth.

Revoke Article 50. Remain in the EU. Get on with everything else and put the whole ghastly fiasco down to experience.

And ensure the Police are funded to deal with the Brexit fanatics. Make voting compulsory as in Australia. Never have a referendum again. BoJo is well educated but it isn’t stopping him wanting No Deal and not respecting Parliament or the Courts!

Shinesweetfreedom · 28/09/2019 00:53

Why police funded for Brexit fanatics only and not the remainers as well

TheSultanofPingu · 28/09/2019 09:42

Because I think you'll find Shine that it's the Brexit fanatics who are sending death threats.

I think Tony Connelly of RTE summed it up very well: In the current agonies of UK politics the only certainty is that the country is ossifying into furious and irreconcilable blocs of Leavers and Remainers, with very few voters amenable to having their minds changed by reasoned debate.

My vote was about EU membership.
It wasn't about Establishment or experts or sovereignty or immigrants or bendy cucumbers.
I can't be the only one.

Agree with OP about the blind men & elephant problem. I wandered onto The Sun youtube page... clip of BJ saying Humbug. Comments cheered him on & derided the Jess Phillips for being... I dunno, hysterical? I watched the same clip & loved Phillip's fierce & strong words.
