The Supreme Court case continues
(ruling possible Friday but likely Monday)

The new NI proposal is bollocks and Johnson didn't get why until it was discussed in Europe.

There was a press conference in Luxembourg which looks good for Johnson.

Johnsons approval ratings are up.

And we are making no obvious progress to anything but no deal...

PMK, thanks!!

thecatfromjapan · 18/09/2019 20:55

She then found his twitter page and re-tweeted it with the comment, 'Here he is.'

Apparently, the BBC complaints page has crashed.

🤷‍♀️

thecatfromjapan · 18/09/2019 20:57

You know, I would vote for a donkey at this stage to avoid Mo Deal & get Johnson & the Catastrofucks out of government. 🤦‍♀️

SwedishEdith · 18/09/2019 20:58

I don't normally do twitter - what did Laura Koenssberg say?

She outed the guy in an excitable, "Ooo, look, there he is" kind of way. So, if ever a member of the public has an opportunity to say anything critical to Johnson, they now know Laura K will be gaspingly trying to out them.

squid4 · 18/09/2019 20:59

The other week I was moved to a hospital which I'd never worked in for a night shift with a few hours notice because they had no senior medical cover there for the night. No swipe card access to wards I was working on, no real idea how the system worked...

The vacancies are relentless, daily, every shift.

No one feels we are delivering a safe service any more.

SwedishEdith · 18/09/2019 20:59

Imran Khan
@imrankhan

Hearing uncomfirmed reports that the man in that video in the hospital was sacked by the Times for making up quotes in a story, and by Michael Howard for lying about an affair, and once conspired to get a journalist beaten up.

Can anyone confirm?

squid4 · 18/09/2019 21:01

Why isn't the story the unsafe staffing, and not whatever political views a distraught parent of a sick newborn has?

SwedishEdith · 18/09/2019 21:01

Cat
@CatAldgate

Turns out the woman who is BBC Political Editor is also a Tory activist
Quote Tweet

Laura Kuenssberg
@bbclaurak

Replying to @BBCPolitics
Turns out the man who challenged the PM is also a Labour activist

thecatfromjapan · 18/09/2019 21:02

That's awful, Squid.

RedToothBrush · 18/09/2019 21:05

David Allen Green@davidallengreen
Those tweets by @bbclaurak were deeply irresponsible

And it would be the same if it were instead a Tory activist or anyone else

On any account, this was a father of a sick child, for gods' sakes

That he was a Labour activist was newsworthy - the irresponsibility was creating the conditions for a pile-on while he was concerend about child

And before people clutch pearls, I would say exactly the same if it were a Brexit party activist parent in a comparable situation

BBC Politics should be, and should be seen to be, more than the bluetooth speakers for the Number 10 press operation

Too often one genuinely cannot now tell the difference

And I am certainly no Brexiter or Corbynista

The prime minister was (again) caught lying

Undeniable evidence of actual dishonesty

Bang to rights

And BBC Politics?

Shrugs about the dishonesty

Instead questions the motive of the person who demonstrates this, and sets a Twitter pile on him

Is this really where we are at?

OP posts:
ListeningQuietly · 18/09/2019 21:10

The mans baby daughter was ill
the Prime minister roamed the hospital for a press hit
they met in a corridor
the prime minister lied on camera

all else is irrelevant

Laura K twitter naming him should be a disciplinary matter

NotaRealLawyer · 18/09/2019 21:22

Dr Philip Lee Retweeted Laura Kuenssberg.
"Thanks Laura, next time any patient gets substandard care I'll make sure to check their political affiliation first before I listen to their concerns."

BigChocFrenzy · 18/09/2019 21:22

That's frightening, squid
Yet another reason I want to stay in Germany - a functioning health service with far more doctors, hospital beds etc

QueenOfThorns · 18/09/2019 21:24

PMK with cattitude Smile

Laura K is a disgrace.

Leaked Conservative letter shows they are struggling to find a candidate in Hampstead and Kilburn because of the number of ”safe seat vacancies” elsewhere. 👀

They know it, we know it, everyone knows it: the Tories are in deep trouble in London. It’s me vs Corbyn’s Labour here.

And he attached a copy of the leaked letter.

BigChocFrenzy · 18/09/2019 21:26

In addition to worrying about his sick baby, the poor guy now has to look over his shoulder until the mouth-breathers hopefully forget his name

All helps to intimidate anyone else from calling out the PM in public, whether over hospitals, schools, Home Office cockups or any other public service

RedToothBrush · 18/09/2019 21:26

Boris Johnson @ borisjohnson
I’ve been PM for 57 days, part of my job is to talk to people on the ground and listen to what they tell me about the big problems. It doesn’t matter if they agree with me.

I’m glad this gentleman told me his problems. This isn’t an embarrassment this is part of my job.

Well that's the correct, spot on and politically astute tweet.

Annoyingly.

When the prime minister is less partisan than BBC Politics

What a time

Darn. Forgot quote marks.

The last sentence was added by me.

BigChocFrenzy · 18/09/2019 21:27

So he only runs away from UK expats, not those actually living in the UK ?

Peregrina · 18/09/2019 21:28

Laura Koenssberg is paid to explain political situations to the nation; the father of the child isn't.

I wonder what she would have said if he'd been a Tory or BxP activist?
No doubt some political capital about how Labour had let the hospital go to pot.

thecatfromjapan · 18/09/2019 21:29

Yes, Red. But he had to. E taken back to the office and the child junior in charge of his Twitter account tasked to put that out.

And the only reason it looks remotely OK is because of Kuenssberg.

BigChocFrenzy · 18/09/2019 21:29

Ian Dunt@IanDunt

My main takeaway from that clip was that Boris Johnson lied as easily as breathing.

And he did it while staring at the thing he said did not exist.

He looked at the camera and said it wasn't there.

thecatfromjapan · 18/09/2019 21:30

Yes.

Nothing detracts from the fact he's crazy on camera.

And that the press aren't asking him
Why he's electioneering in public money and while, supposedly, he's working his socks off negotiating.
