We are living in crazy times.

Has someone from here all ready been commenting on the BBC breaking news story. One of the comments describes Boris as Cockwomble. 😊

Thereisasystem · 11/09/2019 10:36

Now what?!

HappyHammy · 11/09/2019 10:38

Let's drag this out even longerConfused

TheSandman · 11/09/2019 10:41

I hope It means Hollyrood can revoke article 50.

onalongsabbatical · 11/09/2019 10:53

Excellent news. I'm cheering here. IT'S NOT OVER UNTIL IT'S OVER and it ain't over yet.

Thereisasystem · 11/09/2019 10:57

HappyHammy are you one of the leavers who believe it will all be over by Nov 1st then? Hmm

Thereisasystem · 11/09/2019 10:57

Onalong with you all the way!

Ohflippineck · 11/09/2019 10:59

Let's drag this out even longer

No matter what happens you do realise that we have years more of this shit whether we leave or not on the 31st October. Brexit wont magically be over by November. Hmm

TooTrueToBeGood · 11/09/2019 11:01

Let's drag this out even longer

Would you prefer politicians were above the law? Besides, even if BoJo gets his wish to force through a no deal exit on the 31st Oct, or even if by some miracle he nogotiates a deal by then, it will not be over, it will still have a very long way to go.

Mummyoflittledragon · 11/09/2019 11:07

Fantastic news! Let’s hope the decision will be the same in England.

I hope that means Hollyrood can revoke article 50
Alas unless rules were changed this couldn’t happen. That would be a dream come true!

TheSandman · 11/09/2019 11:19

As I understand it @mummyoflittledragon the case in England went the other way. It now goes to the UK Supreme Court. (Which just happens to be based in England)

cheesytoasties · 11/09/2019 11:22

Does anyone know what the possible implications would be of this if BJ loses on appeal?

Honestly, I am DEVOURING everything I can read about Brexit and everything just shows me how many more gaps in my knowledge there are.

Ohflippineck · 11/09/2019 11:23

That’s the problem HeadsDown. An astonishing number of people seem to have swallowed hook, line and sinker that leaving on 31st October will mean “we can all move on”. They have NO idea.

Funghi · 11/09/2019 11:28

Scotland is just great. Whales, dolphins, Edinburgh castle and now this. I wish I was Scottish.

Mummyoflittledragon · 11/09/2019 11:28

@TheSandman
Thanks for the info. I am not as up on all of this as some.

NataliaOsipova · 11/09/2019 11:29

Apparently the Scottish court website has crashed....but lawyers on Twitter saying that the court found unanimously that Johnson misled the Queen.

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 11/09/2019 11:30

An astonishing number of people seem to have swallowed hook, line and sinker that leaving on 31st October will mean “we can all move on”. They have NO idea.

Its madness that anyone would think it will all magically end just because we have reached the deadline day. The ramifications and consequences are probably still going to be plaguing us for the next 10+ years and yet people continually post at least it will be over Hmm. It worries me greatly that supposedly intelligent adults cannot understand that this is just the beginning of a new chapter of shit.

Mummyoflittledragon · 11/09/2019 11:35

lawyers on Twitter saying that the court found unanimously that Johnson missed the Queen.

Off with his head then! Prick.

@NataliaOsipova

Do you know why they changed their mind?

Calyx72 · 11/09/2019 11:37

I am so happy about this decision and that Joanna Cherry and the team kept working the case. Hope it is upheld in the supreme court

joystir59 · 11/09/2019 11:45

Its good news!!!

MysteryTripAgain · 11/09/2019 11:45

I work in legal. So don't get too excited.

One court saying different to another happens a lot so that it ends up at the supreme court. More fees for the legal profession is all this is about.

Remember that Scotland voted to remain in the EU. So there is always the element of bias to be taken into account.

MysteryTripAgain · 11/09/2019 11:49

Does anyone know what the possible implications would be of this if BJ loses on appeal?

Not a lot as Parliament has already ruled out a further referendum and a general election. Benn Act passed.

So even if parliament opened tomorrow what are they going to do in terms of Brexit?

Funghi · 11/09/2019 12:00

Technically Parliament should be unsuspended now but I don’t think BJ gives a shit.

Mistigri · 11/09/2019 12:08

So even if parliament opened tomorrow what are they going to do in terms of Brexit?

Hold government's feet to the fire in the chamber and in select committee meetings.

They may also vote, if given the chance, not to go into recess for conference season.
