A boffin is an adult, usually a scientist. Swots are school children, the sort who always start their homework as soon as they get home, and hand it in on time. Not the people who scrabble something together on the school bus in the morning.

Apparently Johnston used the exact same insult- girly swot- about Cameron and also his own brother, in 2013, in relation to their having achieved Firsts at Oxford. It must still needle him that they got Firsts and he didn't if he still feels the need to belittle DC using the same phrase 6 years later. I bet BJ thought he could just get a First by acting Boris without bothering to put the effort in, then when he didn't all he could do was say oh Firsts are for losers anyway. Still making spiteful little digs about it in 2013 and 2019, more than 30 years after they all graduated, is as sad as fuck. What a prat.

His over confidence in himself hasn’t diminished in all the years since DC and his brother out shone him at university. It sounds as if he’s still blaming DC for the mess. I read on another thread he and DC had a pact that boris would back leave, DC remain, that they both fight a good fight with boris losing the referendum with magnanimous grace. Instead he won and has started to believe in his bullshit.

So here we are. I wonder how many of his cronies are raising a glass to him tonight. 😱😬
