Please also sign this:
petition.parliament.uk/petitions/241848
calling for the process to be halted for a public inquiry into the illegal funding that influenced the referendum.

The government response to the revoke petition was insultingly dismissive but to be fair the petition was simply saying "no stop this stop it now" which did unfortunately leave the way open for such a ridiculous response by failing to give proper reasons why.

Share this petition widely. Let's get this up to 6 million too. Let's see their response to something more specific.

There are people online openly admitting they signed the petition under 6, 8, or 10 names.

Tequilamockinbird · 31/03/2019 22:47

Signed. There's a group on Facebook called 'The 48%'. If someone could post the link on there, I'm sure most members would also sign it!

MenuPlant · 31/03/2019 22:50

Done I think it's nuts it's going ahead when people were fed lies, there should have been a stop and think as soon as that came out let alone the Russian interference etc

tenredthings · 31/03/2019 22:59

Done. It really infuriates me that the government admitted it was illegal but got off in court by saying the referendum was "advisory"

Here we go. The discrediting starts... It's like being gaslighted.

Signed.

TBF, that's an intrinsic issue with all petitions. Also signatories from abroad (Cough-Russia).

I really don't think petitions are the answer to this mess, anyway.

Petitions don't do harm. They show a mood.

Yes there's a percentage error in them but that percentage error applies to Leave petitions too.

You need to compare like with like.

No deal petition 600,000
Revoke petition 600,000,000

The % margin of error in both would be similar. I doubt there'd be a 90% margin of error in the Revoke one alone !

colehawlins · 01/04/2019 07:18

They won't help with the current fiasco, though, will they?

They're just large scale venting.

8000k Mr Moggs signed the last one,.

Everyone knows that duplicate signings are happening to bump up the numbers.

mummy

I heard that a million anna soubreys signed the leave with no deal petition

Shocking Sad

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 01/04/2019 07:39

And there weren't even 1 million signatures on that petition!!!!

TheNumberfaker · 01/04/2019 07:45

10,793 Moggs have signed it now!

Or is that the number of people in Moggs’ constituency? Hmmm

If you signed the 6m+ Revoke Brexit petition...
Mistigri · 01/04/2019 07:58

Or is that the number of people in Moggs’ constituency?

It's the number of his constituents who have signed.

The link simply says you have to have an email address and click the link on it for your vote to count.
Also that two people could sign from one email, but that bit doesn't seem to work

So if I have my own web page I could have set up 1000's of email accounts and signed with each one, so long as I click the links on the email sent to me it counts ...

twofingerstoEverything · 01/04/2019 08:53

Oh, mummy... Everyone knows that the data lists the numbers of signatories in an MP's constituency. If you look closely, you will probably see every single UK MP's name in the JSON data.

Given the fondness of the Vote Leave campaign for unlawful activity, if it was really so easy to manipulate these government petitions, they'd be all over them. Strange, then, that 'leave' petitions attract significantly fewer signatures.

Leavers are just so triggered by remain marches and petitions. I wonder why?

Peregrina · 01/04/2019 09:03

Since the petitions don't show names, I don't know how people can declare that Xxx number of Rees-Moggs signed.

Now, I think when Farage set up his Brexit party and asked for signatures in support, they did show, and there were no end of Micky Mouses and Donald Ducks.

TheElementsSong · 01/04/2019 09:08

I think what Leavers on here are trying to say but they haven't even got the balls to come out and say it: they believe Remainers are a cohort of lying unpatriotic foreign-named scum who would lie and cheat therefore Remain petitions are fake, whilst Leavers are all honest real salt-of-the-earth actual humans and therefore Leave petitions are real.
