A thread for those of us on the march today :)

Weather still looking good, (perhaps, possibly, even some sunshine?) temps around 12-14, a little gusty at times, cooling off in the evening, so bring an extra jumper if you haven't set off.

Travel safely and see you at the march!

I can't make it to the march but will be with you in spirit Flowers

Meet0nTheledge · 23/03/2019 08:14

I'll be there

CaptainBrickbeard · 23/03/2019 08:14

I went on the first one but can’t make it today - I hope it gets good coverage. I’m amused to see that the hard of thinking are still attempting to argue that protest marches are an affront to democracy. Not very clear on irony, are they? Enjoy exercising your right to a peaceful protest today, as enshrined in the very concept of democracy which doesn’t end the moment you put a cross in the box but is embodied by full, free debate with all voices heard as an ongoing process. Leavers might wish we lived in a dictatorship with a tissue-thin veneer of freedom (you had a vote! One vote, that’s it, you are never allowed to speak again! Will of the people!) but we don’t and all of you marching today prove that. Hope you have a great day!

Neolara · 23/03/2019 08:14

DH and dd just leaving for the station now. I think it's going to be massive. I know a number of very unlikely participants who have never been on a march before but feel they need to go on this one..

TorchesTorches · 23/03/2019 08:15

Thanks for representing me! Have a great day. I will be emailing Andrea Loathsome to ask her to add me into the figures for the March, as i live abroad, but still can vote and am very affected by Brexit. (thank goodness the Dutch government is functional, practical and compassionate towards expats in their country, unlike the British government.)

I am using this email address, hoping it is correct! Can anyone verify?

Let’s hope it actually makes the news

Oh you can bet it will make the news, but more than likely, look at all this litter, or a punch up happened in Primark, stuff like that will be blamed on the marches. Sad

BambooBoobam · 23/03/2019 08:16

Thank you all for ‘wasting your day’ for us.

I’m gutted I can’t get there but I’ll be following you all online.

Good luck!

67chevvyimpala · 23/03/2019 08:17

Just leaving now.....🇪🇺

catdoctor · 23/03/2019 08:19

Thank you to everyone marching today; I went in October but can’t today.
Hope it’s peaceful.

LateEaster · 23/03/2019 08:19

Will a billboard be following you all with Junkers best quotes?

" I am ready to be insulted as being insufficient ly democratic but I am for secret dark debates"

"Of course there will be a transfer of sovereignty but would I be intelligent too draw attention of public to this fact?"

"We decide on something . leave it lying around,if no one picks it up because no one understands , we continue step by step until there's no turning back"....

Just a few! Lots MoreGrin

twofingerstoEverything · 23/03/2019 08:20

sonlypuppyfat
You won! Get over it! Grin

The trains are fucked (thanks again, Southern Rail!) so setting off early.

Starfish28 · 23/03/2019 08:21

I now live out of the UK (but proudly voted remain) so can’t come to the march. I just wanted to say thank you all for spending your Saturday standing up and being counted. I will be with everyone in spirit.

LadyGAgain · 23/03/2019 08:22

Thanks for representing those of us unable to march. We are with you in spirit and solidarity.

Bin85 · 23/03/2019 08:23

And me !

APheasantPluckersSon · 23/03/2019 08:23

Also can’t join today but a big THANK YOU to those who can.

I would have if I could have.

MrsSlocombesPussy · 23/03/2019 08:23

I'll be leaving soon from Ipswich. Setting off earlier than originally planned due to engineering works on the line. Will have to get a bus replacement service somewhere en route.
I didn't go on the last one, but felt I couldn't sit this one out

TopBitchoftheWitches · 23/03/2019 08:24

I can't make it as working but thank you all who are marching.

BoreOfWhabylon · 23/03/2019 08:24

My legs aren't up to marching or I'd be there.

Go well!

AnxietyDream · 23/03/2019 08:24

Another one here giving a massive thanks to those that are going. For every one of you that does know that there are many like me that can't be there in person (38 weeks pregnant with oedema and medically advised to avoid standing - plus looking after a toddler!), but we are with you in spirit.

You are amazing people giving your day to do this.

Flowerplower · 23/03/2019 08:25

I posted this on another thread but wanted to share here - this lovely email from my leave-voting mum. I consider that she means it for all of us Smile:
^very proud of you for marching! If they had another
referendum I would not vote for Brexit, but we had no idea what it
would entail .... we were lied to and misinformed. Well done for
protesting!

  • Lots of love - XXXXMum
^

Good luck today everyone!!!

UndercoverAthiest · 23/03/2019 08:28

Thank you for going everyone. I can’t make it as have a shift today but will be there in spirit

beverlymarsh · 23/03/2019 08:28

Hi all

Stupid question alert. I have been on tons of marches in London over the years but not for a while. I am planning to meet friends at 1pm at either Trafalgar Square or Charing Cross station (probably the latter, at a specific platform, as that will be easier just in case the phone signal is messed up). The plan is then to find the march en route and join it. That’ll be do-able won’t it? I seem to recall joining marches en route rather than getting there for the start, and on the odd occasion I have got there for the start there’s been a load of standing around to do which I’d personally rather avoid...

Feel like I should be there, but just not brave enough to go on my own. Will be following and thinking of you all!

twofingerstoEverything · 23/03/2019 08:31

Yes, it will be doable, Beverly. We did that last time, as one of our party was disabled. I don't think the march will get to Trafalgar Square until at least 1.
