Road Block Protests Planned.

Has anyone else seen the national planned pro-brexit road block protests?

I'm slightly concerned about this if they do pull it off. I am going to be stuck in traffic for hours!

There are also plans for fishermen to block shipping ports.

What has the nation come to, what utter chaos :(

Yes, patronising and arrogant

Interesting how you all presume that any leave supporters who may protest would be 'far right nut jobs'! Compared to your protesters tomorrow who of course are all 'nice' law abiding citizens

Anyone who ignores what the Police have told them to do and blocks a main dual carriage way is a "nut job"

What would happen if they caused a hi speed accident or prevent an ambulance from reaching a dying patient? 7 miles of queue is going to significantly delay an emergency vehicle, esp as the A30 has no hard shoulder, these protesters are selfish wankers and fit the stereotype of typical gammons

Brexitiers can protest in lawful ways (as remainers do) they can of course drive up and down the road to their heart's content at the comparative speed of other vehicles or on the advice of the Police.

CardinalSin · 22/03/2019 22:45

And the fact that all remain marches have been peaceful, but any leave protests have been ghastly (don't forget Jo Cox) doesn't really suggest that tomorrow's march is going to be a problem...

OP, shall we glance across these Chanel and learn from our french brothers.

Is it going too be the 15th week of riot's in Paris and across France?

I think I read the army is now being sent in, too fire on the people.

LateEaster · 22/03/2019 23:11

Ken Dodd I think the far left has gained traction under corybn actually.

Far left is Very dominant right now and Very scary.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 23/03/2019 07:12

The M5 ones aren’t happy they were stopped. They’re threatening to do another one without telling anybody when or where next time. I’m not sure why they think they won’t be noticed and pulled over and prosecuted if they do. Especially since they’ve announced they’re going to do another one at some point.

bellinisurge · 23/03/2019 07:18

@Doubletrouble99 - we have laws in this country about mass protest and notifying the police to obtain permission. Not abiding by that law is hardly the act of a mild mannered law abiding citizen.
If some stupid twat stopped me getting to my dying parent because they blocked up the road network near me, I'm not sure you could call them a decent person.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 23/03/2019 07:21

I have a gut wrenching feeling that the far right loonies are gearing up to do something entirely immoral and unlawful
But I can not help but feel overwhelmingl anxious that something bad is going to happen. I just can't change the feeling.

Well let's all stop our peaceful protest because of a few twats. Is that what you want OP?
You are talking them up.

rosie39forever · 23/03/2019 07:39

Everyone has the right to peaceful protest be they leave remain whatever it's a fundamental pillar of living in a democracy but to block motorways and a road is petty and illegal and will do their cause no favours at all they'll just be seen as law breaking twats and good on the police for dealing with them as such.

MillyCoddler · 23/03/2019 08:15

You're sounding nuts, OP. It's almost as though you want to create an atmosphere of fear and chaos.

LateEaster · 23/03/2019 08:55

Agree Milly but I'm more focused on the real troubles in France

People think may is bad.... how Macron is clinging on!!!

While there will indeed be some trouble in France, I don't doubt it, but the original 'Gilet Jaunes' protestors basically stopped many weeks ago and it is now a hard core of probably not French protestors/thugs who have escalated the destruction. They are not the men and women of all ages who were protesting back in November to try to prevent another fuel price rise. A few 'extra' causes were added later on, some of which were a bit nonsensical but others, such as the reduction of pesticides in food are rather more nuanced than looting shops and premises in Paris.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/03/2019 21:16

Guess how much trouble there was today? 0.

Jason118 · 23/03/2019 21:18

In fact, I think we tidied up things as we went along!

CoachBombay · 23/03/2019 22:26

Sorry all, been busy gardening today, also have increased my propranolol think my anxiety was getting the best of me with my PTSD.

Glad all went well today, did look rather impressive on the news when I caught a glimpse of it earlier and there was no trouble.

With regards to France, I'm glad I don't live there anymore, I don't think I'd cope in that type of political climate.
