Who else thinks May is going to stay and we’re back to a complete impasse again?!

Everything is such a mess!

Many of those who put in letters said they will back the deal if she survives this Conf. vote. We shall see if they keep their word.

Sirzy · 12/12/2018 19:40

I can’t stand her but I don’t think her going is the right thing either. Who is strong enough to take over? Will more uncertainly actually help anything?

The whole thing is a mess and it’s going to get worse before it gets better

Bearbehind · 12/12/2018 19:41

Me.

She’ll survive this because none of the other spineless fuckers can do any better.

I detest TM. I think it’s her self imposed red lines which have caused this problem but we’re here now and no one else is going to be able to negiotate a better deal.

So it’s that deal, no deal or no Brexit.

Notveryadventurousname · 12/12/2018 19:44

Yes, I think she will stay. Just because Tory MP's won't want to annoy the electorate any more than they already have. So nothing about the impasse will change except TM will be evermore determined to 'deliver' something....anything.... however costly and chaotic that is. Would have a lot more respect for her and respect the outcome if she would put the Remain or Stay question back to the people, knowing what we all do now.

Holidayshopping · 12/12/2018 19:45

So it’s that deal, no deal or no Brexit.

No Brexit gets my vote Grin.

The fury on R5L phone in this morning was something to behold. The electorate are mostly not in support of leadership change.

Notveryadventurousname · 12/12/2018 19:46

Ha, ha....'Remain or Leave'. Showing my true colours there, sorry!

DayManChampionOfTheSun · 12/12/2018 19:47

I think she will lose tonight, no idea why, just a feeling.

Bearbehind · 12/12/2018 19:48

That’s her biggest issue now, her fucking stubbornness.

She’s conceded that she needs to listen to parliament and try for a better deal, despite knowing there’s absolutely no chance of getting one yet, when asked if the people might have changed their minds and should be given a second vote to confirm the consensus, she churns out the same old lines about respecting the votes.

I don’t doubt the head bangers and those who’ve not bothered to educate themselves on the repercussions of Leave will still vote the same way, but the voters who tipped this over the line aren’t going to vote to make themselves poorer.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 12/12/2018 19:49

Hope she stays. Bloody fuckers Boris and rm.

KlutzyDraconequus · 12/12/2018 19:49

Where's Normal Edmonds?

Stick all the Brexit bullshit in his boxes and let TM play a game of Deal or No deal..

Whatever happens, we're heading for shit creek, no paddle, boats sprung a leak and the captain's jumped ship.

Notveryadventurousname · 12/12/2018 19:49

Let's rescind Article 50, keep our very favourable membership terms and reform the EU if needed from the inside.

1tisILeClerc · 12/12/2018 19:53

{So it’s that deal, no deal or no Brexit.}
It has taken a long time to get to this point with these 3 'options'.
There are still some who ought to know better that these are the ONLY options and that the EU have had enough of the messing about and lying.
There is no point changing a leader as the options are not going to change unless political wrangling kills one of the 3 choices off.

Maidsrus · 12/12/2018 19:58

It’s crazy!

I have huge respect for her. Who on earth would want to do that job!

I’m hopjng this will end up in the sensible option, that will Keep the economy on an even keel, allow us to pay off the huge debt we are in, keep the NHS resourced (or stop it from being less resourced), maintain workers rights, keep us working toward environmental goals, not make life harder for the most vulnerable I.e. REMAIN

But it’s all up in the air. Frightening.

I will always think she has made the best of a poisoned chalice though. It was obvious 2 years ago it was never going to work

1tisILeClerc · 12/12/2018 19:59

{ reform the EU if needed from the inside.}
The UK has had 40 years to do this and to many extents it has, but there has always been an air of 'exceptionalism' by the UK and not being fully committed to the EU project. Now it is becoming obvious that the UK if it were to remain would step up its corrosive action inside Europe. The UK had it's chance and has blown it.
My thoughts are that if Cameron had hung out for another 6 months or so until the immigrant crisis in Europe had subsided much of the reasons for leaving would have been avoided. Europe as a whole will need to do some tweaking of FoM and develop a policy for refugees from N Africa particularly.

1tisILeClerc · 12/12/2018 20:01

much of the reasons
Should say many of the reasons!

Maidsrus · 12/12/2018 20:02

The UK is (according to brexiteers) the 5th largest economy in the world (”so we’ll be ok on our own”)

WE HAVE DONE THIS IN THE EU

Where in the league table will we go after Brexit?

We need another vote, now people know the likely outcome

jasjas1973 · 12/12/2018 20:08

She'll win because she said she wouldn't stand at the next GE.

TheLastNigel · 12/12/2018 20:14

I think that's exactly what will happen. And sadly I'm actually so beyond caring. We're fucked either way.

Tinyteatime · 12/12/2018 20:16

Yep I think she’ll stay because none of those other fuckers wants her job.

1Regret · 12/12/2018 20:18

I'm not keen on her stance on fox-hunting and therefore could not have voted for her, but I think she has got the most awful job going. She didn't want to leave the EU herself and is now having to lead the country through that process. The people who voted to leave will never be happy with whoever is in this position because what they thought they were voting for was never possible in the first place, and therefore they are going to blame Mrs May for not getting them the impossible. Which is why I almost think Boris should get the job, except that I think Mrs May is probably more competent that he is.

Truckingonandon · 12/12/2018 20:20

Just think of all the other issues in the UK getting absolutely no attention whilst the shower of shit that is our government are focused on this. I listened to them on the radio today and couldn't believe what I was hearing. It was like the monkey house in a zoo. Every single one of those MPs should be deeply ashamed of themselves.

Maidsrus · 12/12/2018 20:22

Hold on truck we are here because of the will of the people

Truckingonandon · 12/12/2018 20:32

Yep, I know. Makes it all even more frustrating.

ragged · 12/12/2018 20:48

12 minutes to go....
