AIBU to think Brexit is a disaster and will cause economic hardship for years to come? I have a big mortgage, I can't afford increases in prices- we were told we would be instantly better off if we left.

OP posts:
ChardonnaysPrettySister · 09/09/2018 16:05

I'm tempted to go though AIBU and report every single thread that shouldn't be there.

I won't, but I'm really pissed off with posters who say "it's been done to death" or "I'm bored with it". It's your, and all ours, future we talking about here.

Also, “Can’t wait for brexit. We are getting our country back.”

Wasn't aware it's been gone somewhere.

woman11017 · 09/09/2018 16:12

V similar happening on Feminism threads. One senses these threads are being scrutinised carefully externally, and MN is having to tread carefully. Sad

1tisILeClerc · 09/09/2018 16:14

It's not weird that Brexit threads are moved, but it is weird that MNHQ can brag about a poll that they took on a subject that is 'buried' 2 clicks down in Talk.

1tisILeClerc · 09/09/2018 16:17

I suppose it should be hidden otherwise Tory HQ might discover some on here know what they are talking about and have spotted the odd 'hitch' with the 'Leaver's' Brexit plan.

JacquesHammer · 09/09/2018 16:19

It's not weird that Brexit threads are moved

It wouldn’t be weird if other oft repeated threads were moved too. But they’re not.

So there’s an agenda.

woman11017 · 09/09/2018 16:22

If anyone would like to get involved; link to the current 200+ groups round country. All welcome especially leavers who may not be happy with how things are.

Quietrebel · 09/09/2018 16:25

The Trump threads and countless trans threads are never moved.

SilverySurfer · 09/09/2018 16:28

JacquesHammer I know!! Shocking isn't it - I didn't want to but felt compelled Grin

JacquesHammer · 09/09/2018 16:30

Looking forward to seeing your continued work SilverySurfer in getting other erroneous threads moved to the correct topic.

There’s at least 4 I can see on the front page of AIBU alone. I’ll watch for your posts.

SilverySurfer · 09/09/2018 16:30

Quietrebel I'm quietly pleased it's now where it belongs Grin

Quietrebel · 09/09/2018 16:33

I don't doubt it silvery. Perhaps now you can join your fellow leavers in the brexit arms and leave us sad remainers to it eh?

Inkanta · 09/09/2018 16:35

I'm pleased it's here too. All safe and sound in its home. Grin

SilverySurfer · 09/09/2018 16:46

I'm afraid not, the Brexit Arms was infiltrated by Remainers many months ago Sad

Have fun

woman11017 · 09/09/2018 16:58

the Brexit Arms was infiltrated by Remainers many months ago

'infiltrate' has suggests a war. We are living in peace. We don't want this peace to end. This brexit affects women more than men. We should be able to discuss it in AIBU. Having it moved feels like the topic is being hidden. It's a shame. Sad Why would anyone want to shut down discussion in a free country?

woman11017 · 09/09/2018 16:58

should read 'infiltrated' suggests war.

RedneckStumpy · 09/09/2018 17:02

woman11017

Are you anticipating civil war?

woman11017 · 09/09/2018 17:06

We have had 20 years of peace through the GFA. A hard deal means no GFA. I want peace.

bellinisurge · 09/09/2018 17:30

"Infiltrated " ?Hmm. What a worryingly stupid way to talk about randoms on the internet.

Lyinglow50 · 09/09/2018 17:33

Can someone please tell me back from whom/where?

bellinisurge · 09/09/2018 17:37

Still waiting for my cheque from George Soros for daring to express my views in The Brexit Arms. Project Infiltrate Stuff not quite going to plan.

‘This Brexit affects women more than men’

Eh???

woman11017 · 09/09/2018 17:45

Yes. 10degrees:
Equal Rights, Equal Pay, Loss of money for public services due to economic crash. It's women who are trying to keep families fed, warm safe and supplied with medicine if a crash out happens.

Helmetbymidnight · 09/09/2018 17:46

I don’t know why people get so humpy that Brexit threads aren’t in the Brexit section. Seems a strange reaction especially if it’s something you’re super excited about.

Helmetbymidnight · 09/09/2018 17:49

Can someone please tell me back from whom/where?

Nope. That would involve facts/evidence. We do not like that.

10degreestostarboard · 09/09/2018 17:56

Woman

That’s a pretty extreme perspective and not a long leap from ‘Brexit is the fault of men’

Just seems an odd comment to make - maybe it says more about your specific situation than society at large...?
