That's all. Pop over and sit down quietly if you like.

I wonder if it's going to feel devastating all over again when A50 is triggered. I don't think I can go through all those feelings again.

Deadsouls · 21/03/2017 22:49

Maybe this is not the place to worry about that now

smashedinductionhob · 21/03/2017 22:53

I think it's ok to worry about it here.

I found a poem that sums up how I feel about those experiencing joy.

They are like Hardy's darkling thrush.

"So little cause for carolings
Of such ecstatic sound
Was written on terrestrial things
Afar or nigh around,
That I could think there trembled through
His happy good-night air
Some blessed Hope, whereof he knew
And I was unaware."

They feel some blessed hope but I can see no cause for it.

I have just completed (though not submitted) my Permanent Residence application. They have actually made the online form easier! But I became irate and upset at the way some of the questions were phrased as though they're trying to catch people out. It's very cynical.

Cuddles with my sleepy baby have made me feel better, though.

smashedinductionhob · 21/03/2017 22:56

cuddles.... they make things better..

I only get them first thing and last thing at night nowadays.....

I don't think for me. I am rather adept at head-burying now when it suits me.

GrouchyKiwi · 21/03/2017 22:58

Deadsouls Every time something happens to advance us along the Brexit timeline I get a bit weepy.

SummerLightning · 21/03/2017 22:59

Sorry X-posts. that was to deadsouls

My kids still give me loads of cuddles. I was wondering this morning when my 8 yr old boy will stop.

"I do not perceive the European Union as a monstrous superstate in which the autonomy of all the various nations, states, ethnic groups, cultures, and regions of Europe would gradually be dissolved. On the contrary, I see it as the systematic creation of a space that allows the autonomous components of Europe to develop freely and in their own way in an environment of lasting security and mutually beneficial cooperation based on principles of democracy, respect for human rights, civil society, and an open market economy."

I either didn't know or had forgotten that Hardy wrote poetry

Me too :-(

VanillaSugar · 21/03/2017 23:50

I regret the rain storms that day which stopped people going to the ballot. I regret the kids who went to Glastonbury and forgot to organise their postal votes. I regret the A level timetable and a maths exam on the Friday, so kids stayed in to revise instead of going to vote.

VanillaSugar · 21/03/2017 23:51

I don't think any more campaigning would have made any difference. People are stupid and you can't persuade them otherwise. Sad

VanillaSugar · 21/03/2017 23:53

Just putting this here. Night!

A Quiet sad corner
woman12345 · 22/03/2017 07:32

I don't think any more campaigning would have made any difference Leave filtered funding through the DUP in Northern Ireland, it made all the difference. Tories cheated on their election campaigning funding, it all helps So time to campaign now. Smile What else is there to do?

Badders123 · 22/03/2017 08:00

No one thought leave could win.
Hence so many protest votes.

Next weds I shall be spending it quietly mourning thinking of what I can do for my community when the brexit shit show starts to bite (which of course it hasnt really yet)
Yesterday and today I am volunteering at a school
I'm learning crochet to make wooly hugs for those in need
I'm going to make enquiries into starting a food bank in my village - anyone know anything about this?
We can't stop brexit.
I've accepted that.
But I am FUCKED if children are going to go hungry in my village because if it 😡😡😡😡😡

annandale · 22/03/2017 08:08

Preach it badders.

Don't know anything about starting a food bank, maybe contact the trussell trust for advice.

I was thinking about a community meal at the community centre, in the daytime during the summer holidays when the school lunches aren't available.

smashedinductionhob · 22/03/2017 08:29

Now you're talking Badders!

I think I've found my new Brexit thread title.....

Indignation is what I do just before I get very busy and very useful :) :)

😀
My eldest son says I'm dangerous when I go quiet 😂

scottishdiem · 22/03/2017 09:09

I moved to Ireland. 90% support for the EU.

Imjustapoorboy · 22/03/2017 09:43

I'm not really sad. Sanguine not sad. I think badders is an inspiration. Hard times can motivate. And these times will be hard for so many
