Tikes I'm sorry I really don't want to worry you - I do think that May is much less of a threat than Gove, but the reason is not that she's "nicer" (hah), it's that she is clear that she wants to keep very close economic ties with the EU. This means she'll have to treat EU citizens nicely. It'll be fine.

Gove won't win. The Tories know that he won't be a popular choice with the electorate. Also he shot himself in the foot with the soundbites saying what a crap PM he'd make and that he didn't wan't the job! The opposition party political broadcasts would have a field day. Grin

Yes but he has an equally nasty and manipulative wife who writes for the daily mail and sadly some people believe her guff.

Oh and as for

**Teachers didn't like him! Oh no! Teachers never ever like anyone ....

First he massively oppressed the Arts industry, then he damaged the education system beyond recognition, then he engendered an atmosphere of xenophobia and bigotry - what next? Book burning? This is no longer about politics, it is a matter of good versus evil.

Did I just hear on the radio that he has been asked to stand aside? There was a comment along the lines of "a special place in hell" for him after yesterday's treachery.

You did, but he's far too arrogant to step aside - this was all clearly part of his grand plan - Vine even quoted Macbeth in her email to him Hmm

Can somebody explain how Boris was discredited and why /how Gove stabbed him in the back?

Or anyone vulnerable - it is so scary to think of a country that has fought against oppression and is completely made up of immigrants, being run by a minority's of intolerant bullies.

Gove was a mainstay of the Boris campaign, up until the 11th hour when he apparently decided Boris wouldn't be able to hack it as PM, and offered himself as an alternative candidate, thus pulling the rug from under Boris' feet.

I'm convinced that the tories won the last GE because politics because most parties inhabited the central ground . Surely few people would advocate the far right government that is threatening to take over

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/jul/01/brexit-britain-elites-run-amok
'People will learn the hard way how much Nigel Farage cares about their lives, how much Rupert Murdoch frets about their poor pay. These men want ordinary people to be angry, because angry people make errors of judgment, blaming each other instead of the elites that plunder ideas about equality, fairness, freedom and democracy for their own ends. Britain. You voted for this. Now, once again, get ready to be told that There Is No Alternative.'
