bliss!!

and am not a vegan anyway......

we went to the nature festival thingy last week-end though....

moondog · 10/06/2006 22:02

How bizarre FG.
Where were they, had they been eaten by lions.
Vegan fair eh?? Bet that was a hotbed of debauchery.

Frenchgirl · 10/06/2006 22:03

lol moondog about debauchery......
yes the lions loked rather full
so did the prairie dogs in fact
hmmmmm

TooTicky · 10/06/2006 22:04

Can't explain the zoo mystery but the vegan fair was cool - fab food of many types, freebies, fun and excessively loud music. Hot, though!

moondog · 10/06/2006 22:21

Any booze??

TooTicky · 10/06/2006 22:25

Erm, don't know. I was busy keeping track of 4 children in the crowds and missed some, I think! (3 children really, as one was in the sling!)

moondog · 10/06/2006 22:26

Massive brood de rigeur at such a beanfeast naturally.

Anyone transporting kids in wheelbarrow then?

TooTicky · 10/06/2006 22:35

Not that I saw... Some wacky hairdos though!
Actually, (most)vegans aren't as weird as people think and do what they do for extremely good reasons.

DumbledoresGirl · 10/06/2006 22:43

No but it was quiet at Cribbs Causeway this pm, apart from the air display by military jets....

TooTicky · 10/06/2006 22:46

Cribbs Causeway what a godforsaken place!

OP posts:
moondog · 10/06/2006 22:48

I don't think vegans are weird.
Well,I do a bit,but I love offbeat folk anyway.
Sounds great-I would have been there like a shot if I lived 200 miles south of here.
Grin

DumbledoresGirl · 10/06/2006 22:49

I know, but it is air conditioned (mostly) and sells children's shoes. I was only there an hour at most and would have been a lot quicker if I had only realised that the first shop I went into was going to have the best selection in the whole mall.

TooTicky · 10/06/2006 22:50

We did shoes at Cribbs Causeway once for wide-footed dd. Never again!

TooTicky · 10/06/2006 22:52

Well, moondog, if you start walking at Christmas you'll be in time for next year's!

OP posts:
Fillyjonk · 10/06/2006 22:56

what? why didn't i know of this?

couldn't you have posted of this yesterday, tt?

was there free food?

TooTicky · 10/06/2006 23:01

Sorry Fillyjonk! Yes, there was some free food. There was also some jolly-good-well-worth-paying-for-food. Dairy-free ice creams for 50p, all sorts of natural sweets and cakes, some truly amazing piled-high platefuls of Lebanese heaven, Indian stuff, Caribbean stuff, Fry's vegetarian foods, fresh juices and smoothies galore... are you drooling yet?Grin

Fillyjonk · 11/06/2006 07:07

Oh, ffs! Just 30 minutes from me, free food...

you could have saved me a day of studying there, tick Wink

Fillyjonk · 11/06/2006 07:42

I'm not actually vegan but do aspire to be.

TooTicky · 11/06/2006 10:51

My friend tells me there's an organic fair (or should that be fayre?) in Bristol in the autumn. That could be good. I'll let you know when it is. And there's always next year's vegan fair (fayre?)...
By the way, I've got to tell somebody 'cos it's so amazing, I had a Japanese-inspired fake ice cream yesterday, made from just aduki beans, dates and carob powder and it was delicious!

WideWebWitch · 11/06/2006 10:54

The organic food festival in Bristol is great. \link{http://www.organicfoodfairs.co.uk/\details here}

Fillyjonk · 11/06/2006 10:57

that sounds delicious. DELICIOUS. Its exactly the sort of stuff I love...I really really like vegan delicatessany stuff. And I love sweetened aduki beans. I'm going to google for a reciepe.

Yeah the organic fair isn't too great, IME. Its usually about the first weekend, but very very little in the way of free stuff and massively crowded. We went last year-newborn in a sling, ds in a backpack-I felt so much for families who hadn't got their children physically attatched to them, because it was soooo crowded. And big people showing no respect for little ones.

And just loads and loads of meat. Loads. As far as the eye could see.

I won a hamper of weleda toiletries though, that was good.

Theres usually a nice, peaceful bf area run by Born.

I think there's a vegan fair in london some time, will check it out.
