Just had a phone call - it's covid

Nursing home just called. MIL has Covid. DH cannot go for 14 days.
The residents are tested regularly. My husband was due to visit standing outside, while MIL would be within hearing distance in a heated conservatory with the door open.
He's has had to do a fair few visits trying to talk through a window, which was impossible as MIL has a weak voice from a stroke.
I am so upset for him. It's another step back. My MIL has not seen her only grandchild or me since March. This feels so inhumane

Thank you for posting. It's good to know about it.

Anyone reading this board has already had to learn to cope with some pretty rubbish things. We're tougher than average.

Of course you can talk about it on here. I lost my mum to covid last month and it is such a difficult time, prepare yourself that the funeral will feel very different as covid rules and restrictions will intrude in the normal proceedings.
