Anyone else got an extra looooong summer holiday? (State school)

Just realised DS has 7.5 weeks! Breaks up 16th July & returns 8th September.

Is this normal? Never noticed much over 6 weeks before -although, to be fair, his recent hols have all been exact weeks with no extra days tagged on, but still - that is a very long break to fill.

Anyone else?

We are here in England.

30 June to 18 Aug here (Scotland)

Slightly shorter than usual!

15 July til 6 September here.
Longer than usual.

Whole of July and August, so 9 weeks in all.

I'm getting practised at this and have already booked the children up for major activities!

I'm in Scotland and the summer holidays in my area are July 2nd -August 18th so 6 weeks and 2 days.

18th June to 13th September - Spain though...too long even with nice weather.

12 weeks...

The good thing about this thread is that it has made me get on with making telephone calls and sending off application forms for the stuff that wasn't fully organised yet.

DD is going to have a very sporty summer and the DSSs are going to learn a lot of English!

No, shorter than usual - but last year was longer than usual.
Only 5.5 weeks.
But good for working parents. Like me.

7 weeks here (break up Thurs 15 July. Return Mon 6 Sep)! I'm thrilled - it will be a great break for them, and lots of flexibility to have a family holiday, individual camps/clubs etc., visit rellies, plus plenty of time to chill and relax.

I have a couple of INSET days 2&3 Sep.
