I need an art and RE activity any ideas

Each department lays on an activity for the children not going on trips. We are linking art and RE, any ideas?

drawing icons
brass rubbing

depends on the relgion you are doing. but every religion has lots of art associated withit. jusst do something with that.

I thought of icons myself but was not sure how to do them, wanted something very modern and up to date. Perhaps drawing icons of their icons if that makes sense.

Islamic patterns? i.e. stuff which is geometric/no animals or people

I am open to any religion , they study with us the six world faiths.

icons - you could get sheets of MDP or something like that, paint with acrylic and use gold leaf?

Would have to ask the art department about what clay they have left. We had some but we used it all earlier in the year.

I have some real icons at home I can bring in that someone bought me from russia.

I was thinking of repetitive paterns with potato prints

right we are doing the modern day saints icons. Head of department loves that idea. We do shrines already jemima which the kids love which is not too far away from your idea.

I like that idea windygales will pinch that for an actual lesson.

Any ideas if where I could get images on the net for inspiration from.

I meant images of the icons. We will just draw round hands, even big kids like that!

Gave up selling and have rented it out.
