I am just wondering if the platinum coin was handed to all the school kids in England.

SilverMop · 16/06/2022 17:45

No m, we had a book and the PTA gave the children a Teddy each.

My daughters school got the coin and my sons the book- he wasn't happy as the coin looked better!

ConradKnightSocks · 16/06/2022 18:14

We had a coin and a book!

Dahlietta · 18/06/2022 15:24

Ours got a badge. I noticed something in the newsletter thanking the PTA for the badges so I presume that they had to be paid for!

SE13Mummy · 18/06/2022 21:29

Neither of my children received anything and nor did the children at the school where I teach.

RaaRaaLaLaLa · 18/06/2022 21:33

I know schools had to apply for the book. It was free for every primary school child but you had to arrange to get them.

QuillBill · 18/06/2022 21:36

It doesn't look like an actual coin though. Perhaps it's something some schools bought.

Nadal · 18/06/2022 21:37

Mine didn't get anything. Were they supposed to??

wineandsunshine · 18/06/2022 21:41

Ours were given the coin - I am a teacher and have a bag of spares!

AmIAJoke · 18/06/2022 21:42

Lindy2 · 18/06/2022 21:45

Nothing for either of my children at all. One is in Primary and one is at Secondary school.

Is it down to the Local Authority?

littlese · 18/06/2022 21:46

We got a coin!

So the peasants had to fund raise to buy something to convince the next generation of peasants to idolise these wankers. Who, BTW, don't give a shit about your child or mine.

Flapjack637 · 18/06/2022 21:48

Mine got a book and a pin badge

Rainydaize · 18/06/2022 21:48

Schools had to buy the coins

DeathMetalMum · 18/06/2022 21:48

Ours got a book but only one per family which I think is a shame.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 18/06/2022 21:48

Nothing here either - some local parish councils gave things (a mug, a coin, whatever the council fancied I think) but ours didn't.

mogtheexcellent · 18/06/2022 21:52

Pta funded the coins for our school. I thought that was it but she bought the book home on friday.

RaaRaaLaLaLa · 18/06/2022 21:53

They only printed four million books. At a estimated cost of £12million.

mrsfoof · 18/06/2022 21:53

Nothing at my DC's school (state primary, England).
