I am just wondering if the platinum coin was handed to all the school kids in England.

Ours got a coin and a book (i work in the school) frustratingly the books arrived, durig half term, with no notice, 15 books short. I have ordered the extras but they haven’t arrived yet so we have withheld some while we wait for them to arrive. So KS1 have had them but KS2 are waiting

I got a mug in 76 for the Silver Jubilee from Infant School. My dad brought home a coin. I assume the mug got broken long ago. I bought my dc a £3 coaster from ebay as a memento.

They only printed four million books. At a estimated cost of £12million.

An estimated cost to whom? Because a 3 quid book token would have been a lot better.

My son goes to a regular primary in Wales and they were given plastic cups and chocolate "gold" coins, the ones you buy in nets at Christmas.

My son goes to a SEND school. He got nothing.

We had the books and some lovely pin badges the pta bought

CombatBarbie · 18/06/2022 22:03

Our village paid for the £5 coin for the kids. As you can imagine there was a flock of primary kids trying to spend it at the village shop. 😂

Ours got a badge. I noticed something in the newsletter thanking the PTA for the badges so I presume that they had to be paid for!

So the peasants had to fund raise to buy something to convince the next generation of peasants to idolise these wankers. Who, BTW, don't give a shit about your child or mine.

<grabs pitchfork>

A staggering amount of money was doled out to celebrate 70 years of draconian tradition while peasants are starving, Unbelievable

My kids got nothing. I was delighted. What a shocking waste of money. Buy a souvenir if you want one.

VivienneDelacroix · 18/06/2022 22:07

Nothing here. Ah well. School did a big Jubilee picnic thing, which I don't agree with unless they are also teaching them about the value of a Republic, but at least we could gave sold a coin on ebay! 😃

APurpleSquirrel · 18/06/2022 22:07

DD got a coin & book.

caringcarer · 18/06/2022 22:18

My son's special secondary hot a Jubilee mug. Not sure who paid for them but I would be have been happy to buy a coin an DC pay for a mug for him.

WimbyAce · 18/06/2022 22:26

Ours didn't get anything.

Bumpinthenight · 18/06/2022 22:27

School bought a coin for the children.

Our books have arrived, but not enough of them so we are delaying giving them out.

Heckythump1 · 19/06/2022 12:40

We had a bookmark on the last day of half-term and a book on Friday.
