Goodluck to the little beetroots, DD took her grade to last week and passed.

snorkle · 25/11/2007 23:07

Good luck beetroots & congrats to little hennipenni - good that you heard the results so fast!

Ds has his music exam next week, not sure which day yet. If we're lucky we'll get the results before the end of term.

Beetroot · 26/11/2007 10:18

The grade 6 is out of the way - he mucked up one scale - hopes for a pass!

The grade 2 is this afternoon!

Well done mini hennipenni

We won't now for a few weeks

DD is taking Grade 3 piano. First ever exam. She is 12. Do they get the result on the day? Couldn't believe it is only 12 mins long, so could go either way.

snorkle · 26/11/2007 11:35

If its ABRSM, results usually take around 2 weeks (sometimes more). We do ours at school and so if they don't get the results by the end of term then we have to wait until next term to hear (not good). If at an exam centre then they will let the teacher know and mostly they'll pass the news on straight away.
I understand Trinity often give their results on the day which is brilliant - I have no patience for waiting.
One scale off doesn't sound too bad to me beetroot. Fingers crossed eh? and good luck for the rest.

There is a music exam centre at dd's school. dd is taking Grade 2 Singing on Saturday

Beetroot · 26/11/2007 17:51

fingers crossed to little Cam

Fingers crossed for all the lo's, we were very surprised at how quick the results were this time, with the previous exam she took she had to wait just over two weks for the results.

Still waiting for a pupils results from nearly 2 weeks ago.

Waiting for results is a bummer/.

I had no idea ABRSM told teachers at exma centres. That's not my experience. I will ask next time.

Beetroot · 29/11/2007 17:32

all 5 are over now - thank god

Phew! Hope they did well - let us know when you hear.

I would say don't get into that position again, but with 4 such musical children it's almost bound to happen sooner or later!

StarofBethleCam · 01/12/2007 09:36

Dd's singing exam is in an hour and a half's time. She is at school this morning and will have a singing lesson just before the exam.

They don't tell them the result straight away even though her school is an exam centre.

We always get the results in the post at home.

She is singing 4 songs: 2 in English, 1 in Italian and 1 in German. Plus having to know the musical terms etc

Beetroot · 01/12/2007 12:24

star - how does she think she did?

My dc school is an exam centre to - but it makes no difference

We're just entering this world - interesting to read info from those in the know.

ds did his Gr1 piano at an ABRSM centre (but not the main one, an overflow one) on Monday - we were told "results in post, definitely before Christmas".

Then I got an email from ds's piano teacher on ? Weds? saying "he really did himself justice" - and I thought, well, you were there to hear ds do a bit of warm-up playing, which he did fine, but you won't have known how the exam went, surely? ... so maybe all you mean is "ds seemed relatively on the ball before the exam which is a relief given what we know he can be like" - or something. Will be most intriguing to know whether he'd actually been given a steer ...

StarofBethleCam · 01/12/2007 12:42

Can't say, won't say Beety
