I can’t help but feel repulsed every time I see GW on tv. He is to me such a slimey gargoyle of a man. Am I the only one?

TwigTheWonderKid · 30/12/2020 23:09

Nope, and the revulsion increases when he starts talking.

Kindlethefourth · 30/12/2020 23:29

Our local MP. Has always been a good visible MP and does tons of community stuff. Very personable bloke.

Lessofallthisunpleasantness · 31/12/2020 03:30

He seems all right, very keen but a bit out of his depth. Has an interesting accent where words seem not to quite finish, which I always find myself focussing on.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 31/12/2020 03:33

I don’t care what his accent is or how slimy he seems, I just wish he was more on top of his job.

FingersCrossedForChristmasAll · 31/12/2020 03:38

You are not the only one OP.

custardlemontree · 31/12/2020 04:05

I neither know nor care what he looks like, I just wish he could do his job.

Hicksville21 · 31/12/2020 07:21

I think the fact he does such a shitty job makes it all the worse. He looks that way to me because he is so vile and weak and can’t do the job

Priti is that you again?.....

OutComeTheWolves · 31/12/2020 08:56

He's a lot less odious than Michael Gove and he's been fairly invisible since he took up his position. He does often remember to thank teachers though.

This is probably the most complimentary thing I've ever said about a conservative mp.

Misssugarplum12764 · 31/12/2020 09:19

He’s out of his depth. Significantly so. He knows he’s out of his depth, but won’t accept support/advice from anyone, which is what makes him even worse. I’m sure he’d be pleasant enough to do a litter pick with, but he needs to be replaced urgently as Secretary of State.

CountessFrog · 31/12/2020 09:20

He’s like a muppet. Or a character that Ade Edmondson could play really well. I can’t believe he’s real.

madasamarchhare · 31/12/2020 10:05

He is absolutely awful cannot believe he is still in his position after the fiasco over the summer. I just wish this whole government were more dynamic and had faith in their decisions. It’s such a shit show and it just seems as though they’re making it all up as they go along.

noblegiraffe · 31/12/2020 10:08

Not much love for Gav on here, 95% of voters wanted him to fuck off.

I'm sure he's nice enough but he's waaaaay out of his depth in this job and needs to be moved aside ASAP.

Tobermory · 31/12/2020 10:12

I think you have summed it up brilliantly @OutComeTheWolves.

However, I’m not sure ‘less loathsome than Gove’ is actually a compliment! 😆

custardlemontree · 31/12/2020 10:30

Comparison is the thief of joy and certainly there's not much joy around with those two inane muppets.

Corblimbea · 31/12/2020 19:48

He seems ‘nice’ enough and im sure she cares, but blimey he’s indecisive and his speeches make no sense. Everything is so last minute - but that’s not unique to education!

Orf1abc · 31/12/2020 19:51

He does often remember to thank teachers though.

There's little value in a thank you when you ignore their (informed, highly experienced) views when it matters.

SaltyAF · 31/12/2020 19:52

He is an absolutely dreadful Education Secretary. The whole bunch seem to have no ability to grasp simple logic. I would worry about their intellectual capacity if I believed it wasn't entirely intentional.

VashtaNerada · 31/12/2020 19:53

He is just awful at his job. He needs to talk to teachers a bit more and then maybe he’d have half a clue what he’s meant to be doing.

noblegiraffe · 31/12/2020 19:56

He seems ‘nice’ enough

No, he’s a dick-swinging bully.

Threatened to sue Greenwich Council for closing schools for safety reasons then closed schools himself a couple of days later for the same reason?

Not to mention his only priority during the exam results fiasco was to arrange a photo shoot of himself posing with a whip to stop Boris sacking him.

BBCK · 31/12/2020 19:56

He is dreadful! Here in Wales we are about to lose Kirsty Williams as Ed. sec. I think she did a pretty good job.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/12/2020 20:02

Well said!
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/12/2020 20:04

He's thoroughly incompetent, pig-headed, blames everybody but himself, and is a petulant little prick.

His 'speech' yesterday was incoherent, confusing and contradictory.

I also think that he thinks he's sexy, which makes me feel sick.

RecipeStealingBitch · 31/12/2020 20:06

Literally can’t think of one positive about him, he’s totally unfit for the job in every single way
