I received my first ever DCs school report today. It's all really positive - she has lots of friends, cares for others, creative, confident, enthusiastic etc. It's such a relief to know that everything is going well.

In terms of those Early Learning Goals bar chart things she's nearly all number 8s, with a 9, a couple of 7s and a 4 for writing. All sounds fine to me. (and if it's not, keep it to yourself ).

I'm crowing over DD1s report (reception) - neither ds1 nor ds2 have every managed to produce this kind of response in their teachers (clears throat) : 'We admire her integrity, fairness, individuality and creativity in everything she does.'

She's five fgs. How much fairness and integrity can you show whilst lining up in the lunch queue/cutting with scissors/putting on your shoes? Still I'm not fussy, oh no, I'm crowing.

er, crowing as far as i can remember from a skim of ds1 and ds2's reports. then put them in a "safe place" to have a proper read later..
can i find them? can i hell...
once i find this safe place, i can but hope my brain is there, too

Crowing here DD had a fab report (Year 5) and we just found out she got a Distinction in her grade 2 flute exam! Extra crowing going on here!!!

DS1's report for yr2 was fantastic and I am very proud of him. I was reading it to him and he wanted to know what above national expectations meant, so I explained. He then went to holiday club at school yesterday and told everyone "I am cleverer than the whole of England" .

Got stepson's report from secondary school today 28 pages!!!!!! Think they will be back at school before I have read it

No written reports for us this year - just the Early Learning goals things - but 2 7's, 5 8's and 6 9's sounds ok to me (typical boy - his lowest one is for writing!). And he got a merit award too for his involvement in class activities (aka always being in the thick of anyting which is going on), always trying to do the right thing (aka not always quite having the correct idea what's right) and being a character (aka can't sit still and keep quiet)!

" dd(5) is full of smiles and has a wonderful sense of humour - she has a best friend but we have ancouraged her to play with others so they can also enjoy her fanatsic humour and smiles!!

"...."she is brilliant at creative play and was a wonderful cat in a classroom play"...she also got 5 9's and the rest all 8's in her foundation stage report - I'm so happy for her - she's having a ball at school and long may it last

lol, in my sons school report, everything was fine and then, I think it was religious education or something he was called by the wrong name...hm....it wasn't even his middlesnames or anything. My sons name is Sven and then he suddenly got called Thomas...

crow. twice. (after picking myself off the floor in shock)

saffy202 · 27/07/2007 16:09

"DS2 (Y3)is a very popular boy who has a good group of friends within the class. We have throughly enjoyed teaching him this year and have enjoyed his lively sense of humour."

That brought tears to my eyes as I still remember him aged 4 going through nursery not saying a word to anyone

That will be the cut and paste 3andnomore - I have to proof-read all 220 reports at the junior school I work at and I often have to correct it when the teacher's forgotten to change the name - or changed the name but forgotten to change 'she' to 'he'.
Ideally, teachers would write a brand -new comment for each child, but there are only so many things you can actually say about a child's performance in RE....
