Have a look now at my profile page - I'll leave it up until I go to bed and then make it private again.

He told his teacher he didn't want to call the strings names, he just wanted to call them the letters. He also asked me to teach him to read music - which luckily only has to be four notes which are in very different places, and then he wanted some "paper with 5 lines on for writing his own pieces" and then he made lots of pieces up, and then we had to put the cello up again so he could play them, and then he wanted piano accompaniments, at which point I told him it was bed time.

I am totally knackered and have much sympathy for Mozarts mum.

You can't really blame him music is in his blood after all!

I've just put another one up with him giving his cello a "hug" to make sure it's all in the right place.

What lovely pictures. I hope he carries on with the same enthusiasm - I'm sure he will!

nearlyfourbob · 10/02/2007 08:44

Nah, he'll get depressed that things don't always move as quick - but I'm prepared for that as I've seen it a million times myself.

Constantly hearing me say goodbye to my pupils has trained his mind. He told me he "has to practise every day or I won't get better".

nearlyfourbob. My dd started with an overgrown violin type cello and is just getting her first full sized one. To be honest it seems a little sad and the small times seem very nostalgic now so enjoy!

nearlyfourbob · 10/02/2007 08:58

Going to bed now, so have tucked it away into relative privacy - I made a few people mumsnet mates so you may be able to get in.

Aw nfb, he's so cute.

Such a great choice of instrument too, even if I say so myself.

LIZS · 10/02/2007 19:18

aww sweet !

nearlyfourbob · 10/02/2007 19:58

Practising was the first thing he asked to do after breakfast. I accompanied him this morning which was lovely. he doesn't seem to mind that his part is only 2 or 3 notes.
