Dd2 reads all the time, her school books and more but I rarely sign her book because a) I forget and b) her teacher defo doesn't read it before giving her another book.

4 times I wrote "chloe found this book really easy, can we go up a level please" and nothing, then it dropped a level, and then shot up a couple and then back down.

Dd1 can never find her record book and is usually reading about 3 books at a time (weird child) and so I just let her get on with it.

As long as I know that they are reading and getting on fine, then I don't care about the record book tbh.

Thank you Whizzz, I took a bit of a slagging further down this thread for daring to suggest that children who have dirty fingernails first thing in the morning may not have washed their hands since the day before.

It was tongue in cheek cod you were right.

I have to fill in a form to be checked before i start, but the teacher said it's not as comprehensive as a CRB???

Lucycat · 19/01/2007 11:49

clearly I meant CRB

Bugg*r me! I'm terrified now. Do people really sniff our kids, check their nails and count unread letter? I thought it was enough that the kids could read.....

Now I'm going to be paranoid walking into the playground....
