Queen Ethelburga's college/Chapter House Prep?

(Asking for a friend.)

Does anyone have any experience with the school? My friend's little girl (8) is desperate to go to this school. I believe she'd be a day student or weekly boarder.

Anything good or bad I can pass on?

Thank you!

Someone should at least suggest to the OP that she searches here using the first two words of her title ...

There is nothing bad to be said about Queen Ethelburga's

This post may or may not have been sponsored by Queen Ethelburga's lawyers.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 15/06/2015 11:47

I've got some Haribo.

OP the thread you are looking for is the one posted in education about last Feb if that helps.

WanderWomble · 15/06/2015 11:54

I've got it and have sent the link to my friend.

You won't find anything bad about QE's because their lawyers are on the case deleting anything but the positive.

Wotsitsareafterme · 15/06/2015 12:00

I don't know anyone who went to that horsy school but I competed plenty with girls who did and they were very rude about them.....the leaflets used to fall out of horse and pony I was quite keen but bullet dodged I reckon Wink

WanderWomble · 15/06/2015 12:01

Which speaks volumes in itself!

Does she like horses? Has she had a flier from a horsey magazine?

There are other schools which allow you to take your pony/offer riding but which don't advertise in quite the same way.

Rosieposy4 · 15/06/2015 20:52

no horses there any longer anyway!, but they have kept very quiet about that.

You are right Rosie. The mention of horses seems to have disappeared from their website.

There is a free DVD available though.

Haffdonga · 15/06/2015 21:22

Ooooooooh...

Biscuit unfortunately

There's so many things I want to post from that website. The boarding section contains some absolute gems.

TalkinPeace · 15/06/2015 22:21

QE has its uses : the reading up on the Defamation Act I had to do came in useful at work recently Grin

mummytime · 15/06/2015 22:46

They still have a £1M equestrian centre mentioned, but thats all. What happened if you joined because of the horses, and then....

I actually remember this school always used to advertise in the Telegraph when I was a girl (a long long time ago), the only one I remember doing so.

Wotsitsareafterme · 15/06/2015 22:48

I may have started reading the website....it's um....entertaining Wink

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 15/06/2015 23:03

Grin Talk.

That's a new website since the last threads isn't it? I don't remember it looking like that.

WanderWomble · 15/06/2015 23:59

Yes the little girl is very horsey- she does Pony Club and has her own pony. The horses are a very big draw for her I think.

For a horse-y school try Abbots Bromley School for Girls. Though they may be changing their name now they're taking boys into the 6th form.
