Got an interview on Monday for teaching job. I was supposed to get a letter telling me details of the day including the lesson they wanted me to teach.

I have just phoned as it still has not arrived yet and apparently the current Head Of Drama still has not given his suggestions for lesson to be taught..so I am still waiting.

No ieda, what age, what subject NOTHING!

To be honest, I am petrified of getting the job at the moment. It feels like I will have to grow up. But I will start a thread all about my worries if I get the job, which I am thinking is unlikely now.....

This happened to me with a private school in France. I was not told what I was doing, or the hours I was working until the day before I was due to start work. I was under the impression that I would be working with a teacher and using their lesson plans, but no, I had to do my own lesson plans and my hours went up from 3 a week to 20 a week covering for the Head of English whilst he was away!

And just as an aside, I don't like the use of the word Jesus in the title either. Sorry, I'm a catholic, I don't like it, shoot me now.

i havbe already been told off for that further down the thread....

jesus, coloured...hmm, so many offensive words and so little time hey Wink

There were 5 ohters. One dropped out at lunch time.

Others were Head of Depts at their own schools so I really was a bit of a wild card.

I understand that they may be a bit scared of givingme the job becasue of my lack of exaM Experience and I will not be depressed about it (well i will try not to be)

If they want someone to bring drama up to a higher profile, with good contacts then I am their woman..so whoknows....

I was with you on the coloured one btw! Wink It's just that we do actually see Jesus as part of God you see. Sorry, not wanting to sound like a religious nut or to hijack the thread.

Good luck!

It's just a waiting game isn't it. If I were the Head and confident that the right systems were in place in the dept and that there were other experienced drama teachers happy to keep doing what they have been doing in order to get the exam results but ready to respond to a fresh enthusiastic lead then you'd be my choice. It will be interesting to see how honest they are with themselves about the importance of exam results. I know nothing about the private sector but guess parents set more than a little store by them. It must be horrendous waiting; in the state sector you know the same evening mostly.

How about oh dear, I'm cross? Or goodness me, I'm cross? Or golly, I'm cross? Smile

Good luck, beety - I'm a bit late to this thread! From what you have posted in the past about kids and theatre I think they'd be mad to pass you up just for the lack of exam experience - as robinpud says there must be lots of support in place for that bit if they did appoint you.

Lots of crossed fingers here!
