DD asked to move school yesterday.....

DD's still bedwetting and after school yesterday she came up to me and said "If I still want her to go to XXX school - she thinks she will"

I am really worried about what has happened at school to make her say that. Until then she was adamant that she was not moving...no way...no how

can you take her with you to see the head of new potential schools so that she feels she is being listened to and it actually might feel that it is going to happen .. then even if there's no place till september she'll appreciate its not YOU saying it but the school

also seeing another school may just crystalise things in her mind

it will certainly give her hope .. and hope is a wonderfully empowering emotion

I think her teacher is an arse I'm terribly sorry .. for any teacher to give 'be harder on her' advice when you are admittedly a strict parent (like me) is a cop-out and insensitive and merely proves that he is not standing up for her

can she in the meantime move classes?

I'm not sure about all the background to this, but I think twiglett's idea of showing your dd around the new schools is a really good one. I agree that once she sees what's round the corner, and feels involved in the decision, there's every reason for her to feel more hopeful and empowered. Feeling you have control of a situation and your future is a great way of dealing with depression IME. If my child woke up with tears like your dd, I'd be so upset - that teacher's comment was unbelievably insensitive.

She started talking to her Great Grandma about the bullying - but GG has Altzeimers, so everytime she started to get anywhere (I was listening) GG got confused and it went back to the beginning

It was so frustrating
