I think they mean to open a primary school as an eventual feeder for the secondary.

I have no idea why he keeps babbling on about Latin. They teach it at my DD's comp a couple of miles from the WLFS and quite a few comps in the area.

I was furious when I realised they had nicked Tiffin Girls' motto Sapere Aude - Dare to be wise (OK other schools have it, but it fucking pissed me off all the same to have it associated with that school - oh the irony).

Dunning Kruger

And yes, he does.

drjohnsonscat · 18/07/2012 10:59

ha ha! thanks for the correct link Greythorne. I think I suffer from the Dunning Kruger effect Grin

wildkat · 18/07/2012 19:59

Hooray hooray that I turned down the WLFS place for DS! What truly repulsive views the man has.

wildkat · 18/07/2012 20:12

From the comments, I particularly enjoyed:

"...if you think the existence of wheelchair ramps and special provisions for dyslexia are "ghastly", then the only thing you should be doing in a school is filling in some of the obvious gaps in your education."

" ' -and, in today?s money, my terrible performance would have netted me eight A*s- ' Um. No, it wouldn't."

"You are a revolting man who simply has no idea at all what inclusiveness and disability means, and I hold the rest of your argument in contempt as a result."

ThePathanKhansWitch · 18/07/2012 21:09

Shock..... it sounds like a hate speech. The ignorant, heartless bastard.

A plague on your free schools.

viques · 02/01/2018 13:10

I know this is a zombie thread. But there are a lot of useful links on here which explain why I am in a state of seethe to learn that this friend of those in high places who should know better has got himself appointed to a new University quango allegedly looking out for Students interests. Sally Young of the University and College Union says that the new comittee needed a 'robust' board to oversee students interests, instead here is "Toby Young the Tory cheerleader dressed up as the voice of teachers."

Let's hope he finds this job as impossible as his last one and resigns without having caused too much damage.

Ta1kinPeace · 03/01/2018 14:20

For once I utterly approve of why a zombie thread was bumped Grin

DfE are already having to backtrack from the level of experience he purportedly had.

noblegiraffe · 03/01/2018 16:59

Oh I was about to post on this thread then I saw that I already had. Apparently my opinion of him hasn't improved since 2012 Grin

Why has the Tory party got a policy of giving Toby Young whatever he wants?

GallicosCats · 10/01/2018 15:58

Well, it looks like he's got his comeuppance now. And not before time.
