Long hard day, long hard week

Just feel like having a whinge.

It has been a hell of a week. I'm stressed, over tired, aching all over, missing dh who is away for 3 weeks, so I am in sole charge of the kids.

This week I have had three after school meetings, staff meeting, meeting with parents adn social workers and a shed load of marking, books and course work.

And I'm fed up! Pissed off and knackered. I'm fed up with kids shouting at me, stoming out of classroom, sixthformers who are too lazy to get of their arses to work and cocky little kids who know nowt and arse around and parents who seem to think that education is a free form of child care, involving little or no input from them oir their flipping offspring

Thank you, this has been a public service whinge on behalf of Martiambishop!

I hope you haven't been shouting at parents across the playground

Blandmum · 03/02/2006 17:44

In spite of myself, LMAO, tiredly.

Do people expect us to be bloody saints or something?

If that poor bloody teacher had half the day I had the kids were lucky she could still pass on a message!

think camping thoughts ...you are going on holiday.....nice campsite.....lots of wine..... candlelit BBQ......

Bugsy2 · 03/02/2006 18:00

MB, you are supposed to be a superior being with limitless tolerance and understanding. You are supposed to be a social worker, care worker, parent, health worker and teach too!!
Please don't tell me that you can't quite be all of these things all of the time - who else is going to ensure the future of a generation!!
Sorry you've had a crap week - I am only joking about all the above, just in case you've had a sense of humour failure.
Get stuck into the vino - its pretty much 6pm!

iota · 03/02/2006 18:01

and only one more week until half term - that's gotta be a good thing even if dh won't be around

Whizzz · 03/02/2006 18:02

I want to be a teacher

Blandmum · 03/02/2006 18:07

two weeks Iota! Two weeks!

Dh is going to be back for 5 days and then away for another week! Curses!

Still I'll be visiting my wonderful MIL...who i love greatly and she will get us both squiffy and is taking me to a super concert, and I'm going to meet up with a lovely MNetter....so summat to look forward to.

I do love my job, most times it is fab. But this week has me whupped

Much sympathy from Roisinland!
I've had a pretty good week with the kids, and a pretty poor week with one particular colleague, who seems incapable of behaving like an adult.
Communication in our place is lousy - sometimes it's one huge complicated game of Chinese whispers, and no-one will say what they really think face-to-face to anyone.
I've never come across anything like it.

iota · 03/02/2006 18:12

half term on 10th here mb

it's a bummer when dh is away -- mine was absent for 9 days (incl 2 x w/e ) a couple of weeks ago

katierocket · 03/02/2006 18:30

oh come on, you get 13 weeks of holiday, I don't know, teachers, all they ever do is moan....

Blandmum · 03/02/2006 18:32

Roisin, that must be so tough.

I can't comlain about most of my collegues who are 100% gold. All of my managers are great, supportive and WISIWYG.

Hate being kept in the dark, must be bloody grim.

Must confess I am feeling 100% better now I have a glass of wine and the kids are being allowed to watch a scooby doo video, bad mummy altert!

Katie, it is the only way that they can reduce the chance that will will flip and end up doolaly.

And if it is so jammy, why is there a shortage of secondary scinec teacher?

OP posts:
katierocket · 03/02/2006 18:35

Ha, my mum was a teacher so I do appreciate the work and intense stress that you suffer. It is a huge about of holiday though. My DP gets 4 weeks a year and he has a horribly stressful job.

Blandmum · 03/02/2006 18:43

Well, so does mine he is in the RAF....so I do know what it is like. Please I don't want to be offensive but I have had a seriously shit week, I have had to cope with all sorts of crap, dealing with kids who home lives make me feel ill, they are so awful. I'll fullt admit that we have a lot of holidays, but I am the poorest paid of all of mty collage mates, so I guess it is kind of swings and round abouts.

My dh is away, so I pissed off, lonley and coping with two kids on my own. Because my dh is in the RAF I have Zero family neer me for suppor.

If you want tio, start another thread having a go at how lucky teachers are, plaes don't do it here, today.

I'm just to flipping tired, emotionaly drained and pissed off to see the jok, OK?

katierocket · 03/02/2006 18:44

Ah MP, I'm sorry, I don't mean to rile you. I know teachers do a hell of a job. It was kind of tongue in cheek but misjudged so I apologise

I'm a week in and it is just so tiring.

I'm an old hand, but dh has had a ground tour for 2 years so I am sort of out of practice. I'll get better, but it is bloody grim atm

the kids are great, but I'm just so trired and fed up of not having someone to talk things out with at the end of a shitty day

iota · 03/02/2006 18:49

that's what MN is for mb - I'm sittting here waiting for dh to fly back from Edinburgh
