Apologies Waterfalls, am sure you make lovely Tapioca. I have a milk thing (bleugh!)

waterfalls · 23/09/2005 21:51

Yes tapioca is what people call frogspawn

dropinthe · 23/09/2005 21:51

Were you lot going to school in the psychedelic years then with all this colured custard or was it too much acid at breaktime?

dropinthe · 23/09/2005 21:52

Frogspawn was puke and I don't know how anyone could get it down their necks-same as rice pudding! Yuck!

toothyboy · 23/09/2005 21:53

Oi - leave my cobblers alone!

waterfalls · 23/09/2005 21:53

Bread and butter pudding...totally VILE!!!!

CaptainCavemansMummy · 23/09/2005 21:53

I remember being a 'server' in 4th yr junior and my friends were teasing me saying i fancied the headmaster. So I wiped the dishcloth round their faces - only to be spotted by Mr Bates who bellowed at me in front of the whole school, how stupid and irresponsible i was . Oh, the shame!!

fishie · 23/09/2005 21:54

toffee cream tart yummo
horrible horrrrible kentucky pie
i cooked them for a while, surprisingly wholesome ingredients generally, but that was late 80s.

Amai · 23/09/2005 21:55

Does anyone recall those frozen juice cartons.

albosmum · 23/09/2005 21:55

in my junior and infant school the custard always matched the colour of the cake! - very psychedelic

zaphod · 23/09/2005 21:55

We never had coloured custard . We had sort of a chocolate coloured, custard consistency, type of thing, which they would serve with half melted ice cream though.

ScrewballMuppet · 23/09/2005 21:55

I loved:
blamanche thing that had a covering of cornflake cakes
burgers in buns
semolina
scone with jam and cream on
yoghurts

I hated:
mashed turnip!!! they did the usual ..think of all those children who are starving

ScrewballMuppet · 23/09/2005 21:56

Another hate was the custard, as by the time i would get to it there would a thick skin on the top that always made me feel sick...bleuch!!!

Littlefish · 23/09/2005 21:56

Dry egg flan (not called quiche in those days) with even dryer mashed potato. Yeugh.

Amai · 23/09/2005 21:58

Ok fine I give up, but I did cut my finger trying to get into one with a fork and there was blood every where.

toothyboy · 23/09/2005 22:00

Amai - were they pyramid shaped?

dinny · 23/09/2005 22:00
