Chivers jelly makes it smelly

CaptainCavemansMummy · 23/09/2005 21:44

Bleugh to faggots and carrots though

hunkermunker · 23/09/2005 21:44

I LOATHED the chips they used to serve once a week - like cold, fat bags of pus. I threw all mine one by one under the table once (I was five). Got caught and had to pick them all up

I loved the stodgy puddings and the meat and three veg type dinners. Loathed the salad (was always salty - wtf?) and those chips haunt me. Grim!

dropinthe · 23/09/2005 21:45

Mint custard? Obviously was living in the wrong Borough!

zaphod · 23/09/2005 21:45

The runny mince in gravy, with globs of meat gel or something in it, with watery potatoes. Steak and Kidney pie, yuck.

Loved bananas in custard, and jam roly poly with custard.

CaptainCavemansMummy · 23/09/2005 21:45

We got mint custard in staffordshire...probably full of illegal substances nowadays!!

dropinthe · 23/09/2005 21:45

We used to have chocolate pudding with either green or pink custard ... we used to call it sh*t with sugar on (our dinner ladies weren't very good cooks).

I hated the roast dinners, all cold and greasy, and the boiled potatoes that were so hard you'd try and put your fork into them and they'd shoot off and hit the ceiling.

Every now and then we would have milky coffee and doughnut as a pudding - I loved that.

dropinthe · 23/09/2005 21:46

Too many "E"'s!

loved chocalate pudding and chocolate custard
hated beetroot and mash, semolina, frogs spawn

toothyboy · 23/09/2005 21:48

Loved cobblers and the pudding which was biscuit based, then caramel filling, topped with a squirt of fake cream!

Had to sit for whole lunchtimes with bowls of rice pudding or tabioca (?) (retching just thinking about it!) in front of me cos you couldn't go out to play until you'd finished it! I wouldn't even attempt it!

albosmum · 23/09/2005 21:48

arctic roll! ice cream with sponge

waterfalls · 23/09/2005 21:49

Tapioca, I still love that now, make it quite often actualy

Amai · 23/09/2005 21:49

Does anyone recall those frozen juice cartons.

zaphod · 23/09/2005 21:49

On Sunday nights, for tea we would get stale apple slices from a local bakery and green banana. And sometimes there was mould on the apple slices. Nobodies parents would believe them when we told them that.

waterfalls · 23/09/2005 21:49

Thats the one.....artic roll, yum.

CaptainCavemansMummy · 23/09/2005 21:49

Tapioca and rice pudding - heave, heave, heave

zaphod · 23/09/2005 21:49

Is tapioca the one like frog spawn?
