MadameWeb · 18/03/2007 14:50

im selling tickets to a fight,

this woman emails me asking me to put a 'buy it now price' on

i say how much?

then within 10 minutes i get 3 emails

1st- Ill give you £120 immediate paypal payment, but you now have to cancel the bid thats been placed on them, please dont wait as long to reply incase more bids are placed, im only offering you this because at least your listing looks genuine, there seems to be a lot of sellers selling email conformations and not alot of hard tickets.

2- Did you get my message?, please respond sooner rather than later.

3-rd saying ...
Your meant to discuss the matter with me not just ignore!. Do you want to sell the tickets? Im not sitting here all day, there are a pile of best offer listings

so i reply saying

im sorry but its mothersday and im not sat at the computer all day waiting for messages, im busy,
and i wont sell the tickets on the basis that you are quite rude

(which i think she was! - those emails were sent within minutes of each other - give me a chance to reply!!)

so then i get this ...

I dont understand? im sorry if ive offended you, im just trying to buy your tickets? I have to be better behaved to do so? I too want to give my mother some attention instead of emailing and waiting on responses. Your attitude is terrible and that of a premadona and now i have no choice but to contact ebay and have your tickets pulled and your account suspended. Have a nice mothers day. Of course if you want to apologies for talking to a buyer in a demeaning way, feel free

weirdo

what exactly is she going to report me for - saying she is rude - can she report me?? she hasnt even bought anything??

plus shes techniclly breaking ebay rules by emailing me trying to buy them now isnt she??

"Look fly Why aren't you buzzing around already, I threatened you with the swatter seconds ago"

franch · 18/03/2007 17:14

blardy hell!!! what is wrong with people ! had a look at the ad ! it is quite obvious you were using the newspaper as a way to show the date ....this person is really nuts !! if they don;t want the tickets, why can;t they piss off and let you sell them.

can you withdraw them from sale, and then give them to a friend with a different account to sell on your behalf?

CarGirl · 18/03/2007 18:01

I also think you would be better off getting someone else to use their account and I suggest doing a high BIN with best offer deal - not sure how you can advertise them differently so mad woman doesn't track them down and still throw spanner in the works though. But I did think if someone makes you a decent offer than you can accept it before she contacts them as their details stay private?

SoupDragon · 18/03/2007 18:04

Why do you need the newspaper to show the date??

scatterbrain · 18/03/2007 18:04

I'd pull the ad now - do another photo without the Sun in it - and make it private bidders only - so she can't see who has bid anyway.

I would write in the ad "Please don't contact me and ask me to sell these tickets off ebay as I will not break ebay rules."

She doesn't sound that much of a nutter really - but you have obviously really annoyed her ! perhaps she is having a bad day ! It's all got a bit out of hand really over a couple of tickets - I wouldn't have replied to her after the first time to be honest !

SoupDragon · 18/03/2007 18:05

Surely you can report the bid retraction to Ebay because it says "can not contact the seller" and they clearly haven't tried??

willywonka · 18/03/2007 18:06

In light of the earlier correspondence etc. I would definitely contact eBay to see if they can approach your highest bidder to ask if she's been approached by the loon because, if so, that would be totally out of order. on your behalf.

Happy Mother's Day

scatterbrain · 18/03/2007 18:07

Alo I would email the bid retractor and explain that this woman has been harassing you because you refused to sell her the tickets off ebay. She has obvioulsy told them that YOU are a nutter - and I think you can prove that you're not - so it's got to be worth an email !

SoupDragon · 18/03/2007 18:07

Forward the loon's emails onto the ex-bidder.

VioletBaudelaire · 18/03/2007 18:07

I agree with cancelling your listing - only allow pre-approved bidders.
You've already blocked her.
Don't reply to her again.
Advise ebay that you think she has contacted your highest bidder and she is trying to influence bidding on your auction.
You can bet that she's trying to put off your other bidders and then she'll get someone she knows to bid for the tickets on her behalf.

MadameWeb · 18/03/2007 18:11

apparantly the loon didnt email her, shes just worried someone will offer me a high amount and i will cancel the auction (??)

which i wont because 3 people have already offered me £120 and £150 and i havent ended it

ah well! at least it wasnt the loon!

OP posts:
lissielou · 18/03/2007 18:11

am appalled! agree with contacting previous bidder and reporting this loon to ebay!

lissielou · 18/03/2007 18:12

surely they cant do that?

misdee · 18/03/2007 18:12

email the bid retractor and tell them whats been happening.

willywonka · 18/03/2007 18:13

Is a remarkable coincidence...

scatterbrain · 18/03/2007 18:13

BUT - That's the whole thing with ebay !! You make your bid and take your chances !

Are they new to ebaying ?

Pixiefish · 18/03/2007 18:14

She's a bleedin Nutter

stoppinattwo · 18/03/2007 18:16

definately keep bidding private too

divamumplus · 19/03/2007 12:35

she seems mental, so dont email her again. when someone mental nothing helps, think different than we do. sounds dangerious. defo pull the auction and do private. good luck

horsemadgal · 24/03/2007 00:16
