Ella sounds like a beautiful, kind soul and I am so very sorry for your loss

MerylSqueak · 10/11/2024 13:28

I'm very sorry for your loss.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 10/11/2024 13:28

I am so very sorry for your loss. It sounds like you were a wonderful mum to Ella and I'm sure that she knew how much she was loved. Anorexia is such a cruel condition.

Sympathies to you and the rest of your family at this incredibly difficult time.

'Forever 21' broke me. I had to revisit to restate how much I feel for you OP and what a fantastic parent Ella had

LoudPlumDog · 22/11/2024 14:08

Thank you so much. I think I did a really good and tough job since her diagnosis in 2020. We finally bury her this coming Wednesday. I need to lay my angel to rest.

My ds1 is the same age, so it hit home.

Hope your Christmas has been ok OP. Big hugs 💕

Thank you, we actually changed things around this year and broke the day down into 3 parts , some on the 21st, some on the 27th and the final piece on the 28th. It worked well and wasn’t too overwhelming.

Thank you for checking in, means a lot x

I am sorry for your loss for you and your family.
This greatly saddens me, a precious soul at just 21.
I just found out about this section just today having been on this board for some months now. I have also lost some great people in my life to an eating disorder and several I met through inpatient and became friends with them.

LoudPlumDog · 08/01/2025 14:52

Thank you for touching base. Whether or not her death was a result of her ED, we are unsure as the autopsy report isn’t back yet. So not sure where the breakdown in her body occurred as she was in good recovery. Whatever it was, it won’t bring her back, the heart is broken and now I try to go on with a broken heart. It’s hard.

I always think the word shock is such a small word for the overwhelming numbness it engulfs a person with. The moment you get the call or find your loved one it feels like a horse has kicked you in the stomach and you will never be the same again.
Even though the post mortem results won't bring your beautiful daughter back they will piece things together for you and it can take you from not knowing and forever wondering to giving you piece of mind.
Sometimes one is left wondering if they could have done anything and this shows they couldn't. Knowing can help the grieving process when the time comes. But you know how much you have been through already. So terribly sad.
