At home insemination tips please

Will be ovulating in the next few days as opk is nearly positive. We are trying st home insemination tonight and in 2 days time then day of ovulation.
Does anyone have any tips for it?
We have syringe, specimen cups and a soft cup/moon cup.
Need advice as this is our first time trying insem
How long to keep sperm out of body before inserting.
How long to keep soft cup in.
Any other tips welcome!

CD15 not sure if I have already ovulated or still due to. Got a peak on CD13 using clear blue and very positive opk from the morning of CD13. Temp has been a bit all over the place as I've had a bug and been in bed for 2 days. We are using frozen sperm and have gone all out this month and doubled up using 6 vials. First insem was pm cd13 then twice on cd14 twice today and will do the last one tomorrow morning. Pretty sure this will be our last attempt so I have everything crossed for it. Hi guys,
My partner and I are trying to conceive by home insemination.
We have a doner that we have had screened checked and has a good sperm count.
We are on our 8th attempt and are wondering if we are doing something wrong as no baby yet.
We inseminate the day I ovulate and the day after. We have used a speculum in the passed but found the sperm seems to get caught in the tongs part!
We now use conceive plus and a syringe and wait 10 minutes for the sperm to settle before inserting.
I find the floor more comfy to do this with plenty if pillows and visions under my hips.
I lay there for about 45mins to an hour.
What are we doing wrong?
Is my age against me as I'm 38 yrs old.
My periods are regular as clock work I eat reasonably well and take vitimin tablets
Any advice or help would be grateful x

Day of is fair enough but there's very little point inseminating the day after ovulation, your egg breaks down within 24 hours anyway. On the other hand, fresh sperm can live for a fair while in the reproductive tract, so if you ovulate on a predictable schedule then doing one insemination a day or two beforehand and another on the day might be a better schedule.

On the subject of when you ovulate, what methods are you using to track that? And have you had a fertility work-up to check that you definitely are ovulating, and that your tubes are clear? At 38, in the nicest way, you are at a point where egg quality will be rapidly declining, so getting checked out is important if you haven't already, and you may want to look into moving to IVF.
