Hi everyone very new to all the terminology so I'm just going to say it. I'm going to be getting an egg implanted in August thanks to the help of an egg donor. I would love to hear stories/experiences of what I should expect, what I could do to help the process, how to prepare before/after and general stories of success. My husband and I are excited but still trying to stay grounded in case it doesn't work. It has happened all quite quickly

Congratulations! We TTC for 6 years, 3 IVF that never got to transfer. Had totally given up when I had to have an op to remove my remaining tube when we were offered one shot at donor egg. Unbelievably it worked and I'm 20 weeks pg with 1 in the freezer Grin
I can highly recommend a book called Expecting Better which really gets under the skin of all the myths and uneducated advice you will be told!
Good luck!

youngdollhopes37 · 05/09/2017 21:28

Thank you Scarlettinspace and congratulations to you too. We too have one in the freezer. I'll have to have a read. Good luck to you too I'm sure your glad your half way there.

Yes halfway is a real milestone - we had our 20 week scan today too, so I'm in the happy place that follows a scan - although that wears off after a week or so and I start to worry again! After so many letdowns & disappointments over the years it's hard to believe This Is Really Happening Shock

Even though I know the issue was always my eggs, and we've got round that issue, the feeling that it could all go wrong never really goes away. Do try to enjoy your pregnancy though - I am in complete awe of this little wonder of medical science every time I see her x

I keep worrying I'm just wishing the time away to get to a safe point. I'm so excited too can't keep a secret 🤐

RoseJames you sound like you are selling a fertility clinic. I read your post on a similar thread. This really is not the place for that. Glad to hear you are doing well young doll xx

youngdollhopes37 · 14/09/2017 17:53

Had to visit a&e today (I work in a hospital) I had bleeding...... such a shock and were given a positive urine sample but reading online this could still be a miscarriage 😢 Trying to stay positive but my research isn't helping

Sweetheart I had huge bleeds at 6 and 8 weeks . And I mean running down my legs. I thought I had lost him both times but he hung on in there. I carried on bleeding until about 15 weeks. Apparently it's more common with donor egg embryos. My bleed was coming from the placenta. Have you had a scan? Lots of hugs xxx

youngdollhopes37 · 14/09/2017 21:01

Scan due next Wednesday in the royal, (a&e I was at today was a different hospital and won't scan me to next week either) I'm just very nervous sitting resting as much as possible. Sooo scary seeing the blood. 😲

I know just how you feel. Its the last thing you expect. Would your ivf clinic scan you? Xx

youngdollhopes37 · 14/09/2017 22:24

The scan on Wednesday is by my clinic. Positive urine test and bloods came back normal so hoping everything ok. Maybe just have to rest and try to chill.

It's so hard to relax, even though you know that's what you need to do! Are you still bleeding or was it just a one off? I'm 21 weeks now & I still check for blood every toilet trip.., Just look after yourself & trying to stress too much, I know I spent my first 12 weeks like a bag of nerves!

Everything crossed for you x

ScarlettInSpace · 15/09/2017 07:10

*try not

youngdollhopes37 · 15/09/2017 22:29

Scarlett in space thankfully I've had no more bleeding but I am 😴 i too am checking and dreading every toilet break. Constantly praying everything is continuing to work. 😪
