I am doing this process. Wondering what anyone's experience is of how long it takes from hit submit to the recipients receiving the paperwork from the court ?
Thanks

I don't know the answer to this but I'm following this thread as I'm in a similar position!

Not yet but I will be later this week!

BedSprings · 22/01/2020 21:36

About 2 weeks for me - this was 3 years ago so mind.

BedSprings · 22/01/2020 21:37

Meant to say look on the www.wikidivorce.com site, they can tell you more accurately because it depends what area you come under.

CadburyFlake · 22/01/2020 22:02

Thanks bedsprings Id forgotten about that site - I appreciate the reminder.

Good luck with the submission atr. It was long overdue in my case and still feels a bit weird to have finally pressed the go button.

I submitted mine 3/10/19 and he received it on 18/10/19 so just over 2 weeks. You can ring them and ask and they will tell you what dates they are currently processing.

atr79gb · 23/01/2020 09:44

Thanks @CadburyFlake.

Mine is long overdue too. I've spent a long time getting custody and finances sorted out. So, it feels a bit wierd to actually get the petition in motion too.

Butwhhhyyyyyyy · 23/01/2020 11:19

Hi, I put mine in yesterday so watching with interest.

abstractprojection · 23/01/2020 15:23

yes about two weeks

TowerOfJoy · 24/01/2020 23:54

I posted my forms on 20th November and they were processed and sent back out on 19th December, received on the 21st.
This is Newport family court and when I spoke to them this week to chase up the acknowledgment, they're currently running about 3 weeks behind.

cece · 25/01/2020 17:24

I applied 31st December. Letter arrived 7th January. HTH

nex18 · 25/01/2020 19:09

Our letter has been turned around in less than a week... very fast.!
I guess it depends on area in which you live though.

Slippery.
Did you do a financial clean break order ?

OP posts:
Luzina · 28/01/2020 22:02

Financial ckean break orders protect you from a future claim from your ex husband (eg if you had a large financial windfall). Without the order your financial ties are not truly severed.

okiedokieme · 31/01/2020 13:20

We aren't planning on bothering with finances, does that make it quicker? (For unusual reasons it's in my interest not to finalise until further along but I do want my marriage dissolved because it feels weird to be living with someone else whilst married)

CadburyFlake · 07/02/2020 16:08

How's everyone getting on?
I was granted date for my decree nisi hearing early this week.
It's not for a month or so though.

OP posts:
rrg1 · 14/02/2020 10:32

If you apply online how do you send your marriage certificate?

CadburyFlake · 17/02/2020 17:51

Upload an image. They have guidelines on the image quality. I scanned it...

OP posts:
cece · 18/02/2020 18:50

My ex has not signed the paperwork so that's delayed things here 😡

CadburyFlake · 21/02/2020 18:27

Oh that's annoying CeCe

Is he just not getting around to it or contesting the divorce ?
