I am doing this process. Wondering what anyone's experience is of how long it takes from hit submit to the recipients receiving the paperwork from the court ?
Thanks

@TowerOfJoy did your order just get signed off by Newport court ? Was it a 50:50 split ? My papers were posted same date as urs got a refusal with questions back on 30.12.19 and then letter in response to judges refusal questions sent on 7.1.20 they have it down as received on 24.01.20 but still haven’t had any response anyone had similar experience ? Are they likely to refuse again ? The judge asked for confirmation on whether we had both had legal advice and who kids live with ( we have and kids live with me 100%) the split is 75:25 to me and we both agreed that

@Youreadthebabybooks I applied for the nisi on the 30th January so just waiting on that now, I haven't heard anything since. I'm unsure of what happens next as we're handling this without solicitors ; there's no assets to split and we've agreed on child arrangement and maintenance?

I’m going to be doing this soon. How do you sort the financial order thing?

TeawithCakes · 29/02/2020 12:10

Bump

Just to update ; the hearing date for the nisi arrived this morning, it will be middle of April.
Do we have to do a financial order if there's nothing to split, and actually my pension is a lot better than his?

I've had to resend the papers as I think he's chosen not to sign them and ignore them.

TooOldForThis67 · 01/03/2020 21:10

@TeawithCakes - I'm going to be doing this soon and was wondering the same. I have a DC and a shared house.

You need a financial order to make the financial arrangements if there are any to be made or to make a clean break - is so you can't claim from one another in the future.
D81 form is required.

I'd recommend getting solicitor to draft the actual order. I've done mine this way for a lower cost than I expected. It has to be submitted to court with a fee of c . 50£

Once you get nisi you can submit the financial order. Once that is done and approved and the 6 was have passed apply for the absolute.

Timeline wise I've moved from application online 3rd week of jan to Nisi being granted in less than 2 months.

@TowerOfJoy
I'd get the clean break order in your situation.
He could claim your pension in the future otherwise

I have a friend going through the process now.Has anyone on here gone through this with grounds for divorce being unreasonable behaviour?
