Anyone else stuck in the queue at EMDC?

My decree nisi court date was scheduled for this week after initial application for straightforward amicable divorce made in July last year.

Their update email says:

· We are currently processing petitions received on 20.04.2019. All paper petitions received are now been forwarded to Bury St Edmunds for processing.
· We are currently processing help with fees applications received on 17.04.2019
· We are currently processing acknowledgements of service received on 2.05.2019
· We are currently processing applications for directions for trial received on 11.04.2019
· We are currently processing Applications received on 19.03.2019
· We are currently processing correspondence including emails received on 27.02.2019
· We are currently processing approved / refused directions for trial application considered on 24.4.2019
· We are currently processing approved / refused orders made by a District Judge on 11.04.2019
· We are currently processing Form A's received on 25.3.2019
· Consent Orders received on 08.04.2019 are waiting to be considered by a District Judge
· Replies to Consent Order refusals that were received on 08.04.2019 waiting to be considered by a District Judge
· We are currently processing Consent Orders that were approved on 28.03.2019
· We are currently processing Consent Orders that were refused on 28.03.2019

We are currently processing Decree Absolutes received on 10.05.2019

I can’t work out which of those timescales relate to nisi dates - anyone got a clue?

TIA

The firat one - divorce petitions. It's the petition that leads ro the issue of a nisi if the judge is satisfied that the conditions for a divorce have been met.

Helpdesk3 · 18/05/2019 20:43

Do you have the email address for East Midlands to find out their work status?

MancaroniCheese · 18/05/2019 23:09

Yes @Helpdesk3 I have e-mailed them and got the auto response that I pasted in my OP - I just don't understand which of those relates to the nisi bit IYSWIM

This is the one regarding approved nisi:
We are currently processing approved / refused directions for trial application considered on 24.4.2019

Can you share the email address you used to get update?
Also, What date is that update as of?

MancaroniCheese · 19/05/2019 10:39

Thank you @Helpdesk3 the e-mail address I used was
[email protected]

I sent a blank e-mail to it on Friday and that was the auto reply that came back

Can I ask when you submitted your application for decree nisi.
I'm also waiting for mine. I submitted mine on 6th March. Not sure how much longer I have to wait 🤔

MancaroniCheese · 19/05/2019 12:12

It seems like it is taking forever

Sent off my application for decree nisi on 10/12/18; on 3/4/19 I got an email to say that it had been accepted and got my certificate for a decree nisi and that it would be heard in court this week.

Helpdesk3 · 19/05/2019 13:13

That's took lot longer than expected....any clue on why the 5 month delay?

MancaroniCheese · 19/05/2019 20:16

I think they are just woefully understaffed. I tried calling them once and was 143rd in the queue Shock

Can you share the number of east midlands?
I'd like to find out about my nisi application

MancaroniCheese · 20/05/2019 12:25

Good luck - here you go 0300 303 0642

The delay on the phone line is unbelievable....
Is anyone waiting for their consent order to come back from East Midlands?
If you have recently received your consent order back, how long did it take?

Thanks!

ItsInTheSpoon · 02/06/2019 08:34

Bumping

ItsInTheSpoon · 03/06/2019 22:53

Anyone?

sunnyblueskies · 04/06/2019 10:02

Spoon. My Consent order went off to east Mids and was received by them on 16/05/19. I’m desperate to get it stamped off. It looks like they’re working on Consent orders received on 02/05. When I’d you send yours off?

sunnyblueskies · 04/06/2019 10:02

Did*

ItsInTheSpoon · 04/06/2019 10:29

sunny
18/3! I will have to try ringing again.... when I have an hour to spare. Thank you for replying - I hope you get yours back soon x

sunnyblueskies · 04/06/2019 10:41

Oh blimey! Is it with the judge yet do you know?

ItsInTheSpoon · 04/06/2019 14:00

I don’t know, but I think it must be. I have emailed but just got an automatic reply - which says they’re processing emails from 3/3!!! I must ring really.

sunnyblueskies · 05/06/2019 14:56

Hi spoon. Did you call them at all?

Seapoint2002 · 05/06/2019 15:05

Sent mine 26/04, Judge saw it 14/05 but still not had anything back.

sunnyblueskies · 05/06/2019 15:39

Seapoint that’s a quick turnaround!! I think once it’s with the judge it’s then another 6-8 weeks to hear anything. Also then you hero hope and pray it’s all ok so you don’t have to wait for stuff to be sent back etc!

Seapoint2002 · 05/06/2019 16:31

Mine may be different as we filed the financial order the day before our FDR in court. Just as frustrated here as everybody else waiting and waiting and waiting!

ItsInTheSpoon · 05/06/2019 16:38

Hi sunny, just rang. It was sent to the judge on 8/4. They can’t chase until 2 calendar months have passed therefore said I should ring again on Monday and they’ll find out what’s happening/ask court to contact me. It’s really good to know they’ve actually received it (!) and that something is happening.... really slow though ☹️

ItsInTheSpoon · 05/06/2019 16:39

Sorry, 7/4 not 8/4
