Wife says I do nothing all day

Some days are easier than others. I'm able to get a few small jobs done. DIY isnt on the agenda when they are around as it usually is dangerous.

But when it gets too much I just let the house go and messy. Then DW comes home and hits the roof even though I was depressed that day, accusing me of doing nothing all day.

If I mention my feelings to some women they make some crap comment about how we men now know how it feels like I am the biggest sexist on earth (not true)

I feel the role of SAHD is totally underrated. I have huge respect for women in my shoes when they get fed up an down. What say others?

Thank you for all those messages. I didn't know there were so many on here!

I had a rough week. Normally it is much better when the kids are at KG they were off 3 days and driving me nuts. The trouble is they aren't actually bad, quite the opposite, but the constant neediness was driving me nuts.

Now wife is home the house is clean and everything is better again. Thank you for those touching words.

I live out in southern Germany. Although homesick for Blighty I do live in the foothills of the Alps in a beautiful part of the world. A good winter sees us skiing in the mountains and a good summer means dipping in the local lakes. Autumn means sunny days and mountain biking (I do have a child trailer for the previous poster - its locked in the garage as we have a foot of snow in the garden at the moment).

I keep a blog of my times here but I think it was a bit dull. I am going to rewrite it a bit. Would anyone like to hear of my experiences down here?

Here it is: the title is inspired by a famous landmark in Munch The English Garden famous for its naked sunbathers in summer:

i don't get why it matters that jeremy1133 is a man.

plenty of sahm's get this too.

the problem is a basic lack of respect for the stay at home parent role. partners /society should stop being so bloody unsupportive.

fwiw, i think you're brilliant to start growing your own veg and cooking good meals. there are days where i can barely cook the kid's meals let alone grow the stuff too.

you deserve a little more respect and support. sounds like you're doing a great job.
